I really like Barbeary but his injury record is incredibly
concerning. Isn’t he out again till potentially the new year
with the same hamstring problem? If we were to get a back-row
player from Wasps, I’d rather it be one of the Willis brothers.

Saracens inflated the market which led to this debacle so other
sides had to play catch up. Seeing their salaries on Ruck, I
still do not see how they can afford the players they have.

True - we could be back to square 1. Jack has also been pretty
unlucky with injuries - maybe Tom is the best bet of the three,
plays 8 and is lower down the England pecking order.

This is why I'd prefer Porter - he's been just as good for Wasps
and he'd be cheaper.
Not sure why people are worrying that signings might put us in
financial difficulty. Are we not paying up to the cap already?

Interesting article on salarysans driving the player pricing up,
you cant really just lay the blame there though it certainly
wont have helped. There are other countries or regions with
higher caps and throwing large amounts around as well for key
players and frankly the people in charge of the clubs have a
duty to ensure good financial practice which some have most
definitely not done.

Well no, it's a double whammy. First, Saracens and Bath decided
to break the salary cap and then held the rest of prl to ransom,
threatening to swamp them in legal action if they were punished,
and getting their own way by "agreeing" to keep to the salary
cap if it was significantly increased.
Then Saracens weren't happy with that and continued to distort
the market with their salaries and off books payments, the full
extent of which were never allowed to be uncovered.
They're just one club, but one club hugely responsible for
warping professional rugby in this country.

Did I miss something? Is Collier out for the season?

Other than he came off injured against Sarries I can't find
anything to suggest this. However the club don't appear to be
releasing much info about injuries.

Thanks. I've seem it mentioned on two seperate threads (maybe by
the same poster?) but can't find anything to support it.
