Available players from Wasps + Worcester

This all depends on whether we have cap available - or -
whether the salary cap gets extended for this season.
And - It also depends on whether the club has enough credit to
actually pay.

Surely we can sign up two of their forwards as medical jokers
for Stephan and Chis? Or even three with Collier out for season?
Imagine having a tighthead stable of Louw and Koch!
I mean take your pick from their back row really its a spoil of
choices (Willis 2x, Shields, Barbeary, Carr) would be very happy
with shields.
We don't need any of their backs just pick up a few of their
bruiser-esque forwards and that would seriously put us in the
mix this season.
Laurie get your chequebook out!

I've been quite surprised that a fair few of the Worcester
players have been signed and by the clubs that have signed them.
I assumed that all bar a few clubs would be up to the cap limit
already.
For medical jokers, you still have to pay their wages, and I'm
not sure you can get them in for short-term injured. Players
like Steph and Chis are unfortunately regularly injured, but
they usually tend to be medium-term injuries, not long term.

Not enough options/information to cast a sensible vote

I think it's got to be a 12+ week injury. Players can come in
for shorter term problems but it would fall under the normal cap
(eg I think Ted Hill is on a 4-week gig at Bath) so there may be
some way to jiggle the numbers and make that work - I'm thinking
there'd be lower bonus payments, etc..

Launchbury, Odogwu , Barbeary and Tom Willis would all massively
bolster the squad so any of them I'd be very happy with, if
possible.

I like Launchbury & Barbeary. With Dommers out till Big Game and
then with England in Feb/Mar then I think the latter would make
a lot of sense plus with the WC next year, they'd be pushing
each other. Win/Win.
Had we not got Matthews back the Launchbury may have been
viable, not so sure now.
I like Willis J but we have two outstanding 7s, so wouldn't want
to see one miss out.

Obviously this as a source is hardly reliable. Willis to Irish
could happen, as they have freed up some wages after Rona left
this week

As Brown Bottle states there are so many variables but putting a
fantasy rugby manager hat on and considering players available
and our existing shortcomings as a squad, then we should be
targeting:
1. Jack Willis or Barbeary - genuine X-factor and can play 8 if
Dommers is out
2. Launchbury to replace Lewies
3. Robson as medium-term replacement for Care

I think there is potentially a middle ground.
Yes, it would be great to sign the likes of Jack Willis or
Launchbury, but not if it puts at serious financial risk.
For example, given the choice between Dan Robson or Gareth
Simpson or Will Porter, it wouldn’t be Robson. Right now, he is
the best of the three but would command a high salary and is
probably past his best. Simpson or Porter would be far better
investments.
I’m pretty happy with our squad as it is. If we can make cost
effective, useful signings that are also a good fit for our
style of play, I’d be open to it. I would be less attracted to
the idea of expensive signings, even more so if they’re still
playing test rugby.
