I appreciate it will have an impact on our balance sheet, but
we're doing relatively well. We keep selling out the Stoop. We
have 2 games at Twickenham every season. I worry about the knock
on effects on other clubs that are not so healthy. It's 3 or 4
games now missing for all the clubs - can they all afford to
miss those games? It's the domino effect that worries me. If
this causes problems for yet another club?

Wasps FC still play at Twyford Avenue and I believe they own it.
It has nothing to do with Wasps RFC.

While the club still sells out the Stoop. It cannot rely on 14
games a season to make money. The club has to seriously sweat
the assets. A major upgrade of facilitates to take on more
corporate days during the week will help.
Also, summer events such as concerts like what they did with
Pick N Mix and Elton John will help.
I know the hockey matches at The Stoop this summer was cancelled
due to lack of interest but better marketing would have helped
to ensure they went ahead.
The Stoop can easily host events that are not big enough for
Twickenham.
I must admit I am not sure how many events Quins currently host
outside of match day, but if there is scope to host more I hope
they seriously look into it.

Its all rumours but just read that two other clubs are
struggling, Irish being one.

I'm sure I've said this before but if you have no other way to
make a rugby club profitable than to "sweat the assets" then the
obvious business decision would be to junk the rugby club and
profit from the assets.

No sporting club is profitable by only 16 matches a year.
Football clubs learned long ago to sweat their asset and host
events outside of fixtures. Cricket clubs are also successful at
this
Rugby clubs need to adapt and make most of what they have. Only
hosting matches is not enough.

Is it now that the game goes regional in England? I hope not as
I am Quins to the core and would struggle with it initially but
it may be the only way to keep it alive!
