Harlequins took a 17-point lead and lost due to a last min
long-range penalty. V Gloucester we took the lead in the 81st
minute. We are on a lucky run at the moment, our squad is
similar to the rest of the league, with maybe a few more
developing players at the moment. If you had a full side in our
first game I think that would have been the difference.

Kindly put. I don't think your squad is similar the the rest of
the league though; it's different on two major counts.
Firstly, no other side can match your depth in terms of the
number of internationals Saracens can put out in the XXIII.
Several teams can match you in their preferred starting XV, but
I don't think anyone can put out their best XV and still have a
bench with the experience and seniority that Sarries do.
Secondly, every team bar Sarries and Quins had major turnover as
a result of the cap reduction. Most had a dozen or more players
leave with 6-8 incoming (and usually lower quality). Quins had
around 6 in and 6 out, for Sarries it was 4 in 4 out. And while
all teams are making more use of their Academy (partly because
the changes to the Academy cap make it possible to have players
who would have been on their first senior contract stay within
the Academy for the next couple of years), I think Sarries have
been consistently very good at bringing their academy players
       through into the first team.
To Yareet and Maggiephilquin's debate, though, I think Quins are
capable of making the playoffs this season, I think they have a
decent chance of beating anyone except Sarries in a one off
semi-final (we've got a shocking record at the StoneX) and our
track record in Twickenham Finals suggests that it's both
literally and metaphorically a different ballpark once we cross
the A316. Both times we've gone there, we've gone there as
underdogs. Both times we've somehow managed to make our
opponents play to our tune and emerged as (narrow) victors.

games as you say. Things could have been a lot different. But
saying that Saracens have Bath next weekend, Sale have L.Irish.
These are virtually nailed on 5-pointers, whilst we entertain
Tigers. The gaps are only going to get bigger.

Irish are a better side than you’re giving them credit for. I
don’t think that’s a ‘virtually nailed on 5-pointer’ for Sale.
Our record at home vs. Tigers is good, we should have Andre back
and they’re simply not the same side as they were last season. A
week off can go either way, but I’d wager we will benefit more
from the rest than they will from being beaten up by Sale.

I think Sale and Exeter have the power game to match Saracens,
although if Sarries get 50%+ possession their new offloading
approach could prevail. I'd hope that we and possibly
Northampton might have the all-court game to unsettle them, but
       fear that might be optimistic.

Who can stop Sarries? The team with the more creative

We had many players missing for Sarries match as do other teams.
Far too early to get despondent

I agree here, very early to make predictions, a lot will depend
on the games when the internationals are all missing, Tigers
could be missing a lot of players this year, paying for last
seasons success I suppose. This weekends team selection will be
interesting, Borthwick tended to rotate our squad for away games
last season, will he do the same for Sunday I wonder?

They might not be able to afford to rest players after losing to
Exeter, Saracens and Sale. That definitely isn’t the start
       they’d have wanted.

We can stop Sarries. In the later stages, we lost at home cos of
a very poor number 9 who hasn't yet learnt the Quins way of
attacking to win, rather than kicking away possession to lose.
