Worcester game confirmed as off.

From Premiership Rugby
HTML https://www.premiershiprugby.com/news/worcester-warriors-matches-cancelled
WORCESTER WARRIORS MATCHES CANCELLED
Premiership Rugby can confirm that Worcester Warriors' Gallagher
Premiership Rugby matches against Gloucester Rugby and
Harlequins have been cancelled.
This follows the RFU’s decision to suspend Worcester Warriors
from all competitions.
The RFU confirmed last Monday that the owners of Worcester
Warriors failed to meet the RFU’s deadline to evidence insurance
cover, availability of funds to meet the monthly payroll, and a
credible plan to take the club forward.
The RFU, therefore, suspended Worcester Warriors from all
competitions, including Gallagher Premiership Rugby, Allianz
Premier 15s, and Allianz Cup with immediate effect.
A panel will be convened in due course to decide the result -
and points allocation - of these two matches.
---------------------------------------------------------
So the current assumption is that Worcester will return to the
competition after the sale goes through, and it's going to a
"Pools Panel" for the games missed.

So surely we’ll be awarded a 20-0 win and a try bonus point
then?

I see that Bath have signed 4 Worcester players on loan.
Presumably their salary while on loan still counts towards the
cap, so no prospect of teams who are already up to the cap limit
taking any of them on loan. Seems rather odd that Bath, who I
always thought had a large budget, have room for 4 loan players.
Good to see the players getting a chance to train and play
though. I read that they are no longer insured as Worcester
players, so any training / gym injuries would result in them
being out of pocket while they return to fitness

Isn't it 28-0? I forget what happened with Covid cancellations.

That would seem to be the case from Reg 4.4:
4.4 Non-Fulfillment Of Fixture Obligations
Failure To Fulfill Obligations
(i) No Club shall, without just cause (it being for a PRL SRUK
Panel, to determine whether or not just cause exists (provided
that if a match cannot take place for reasons of Covid19,
Schedule 5 shall apply)), fail to fulfil its fixture obligations
in respect of a Match on the date and at the time appointed for
such fixture.
(j) In the event that a Club shall so fail to fulfil a Match for
reasons other than Covid-19, PRL shall, and subject to the
Club’s right of appeal pursuant to Regulation 15.2, convene a
PRL SRUK Panel to decide the matter as follows:
(iii) Where the unfulfillment of a Premiership League Match is
due to the unavailability of players due to injury or
unavailability (which is not related to Covid-19), the match
result shall be 20-0 and 5 league points shall be awarded to the
opposition Club who could play the match.
(iv) Where a Premiership League Match is unable to be played due
to a Club’s inability to fulfil the fixture due to non-playing
issues (e.g. bad weather, frozen pitch), points shall be
attributed as follows a. Where no fault is attributed and a Club
has taken all possible steps to ensure that the fixture is
played, each Club shall be awarded 2 league points; b. Where a
Club has been shown not to have undertaken all possible steps
(e.g. not complied with the agreed bad weather protocols), the
Club not at fault shall be awarded the 20 – 0 win and 5 league
points
(v) All decisions of PRL and/or the PRL SRUK Panel pursuant to
this Regulation 4.4 shall be subject to the right of the
affected Clubs to appeal the decision pursuant to Regulation
14.2.
(k) Any Club which is suspended from playing rugby union
football for disciplinary reasons will not be permitted to
re-arrange any Match falling within the period of the
suspension. The effects thereof on the non-offending Clubs in
the Premiership shall be dealt with by the RFU (having consulted
with PRL) in its absolute discretion but subject to a right of
appeal by any affected Club.
(l) In addition to and whether or not a penalty is imposed upon
a Club by PRL or the RFU where in the opinion of the RFU the
Club failed to honour its Match obligations a Club shall be
liable to pay to any opposing Club compensation in respect of
the losses, damages liabilities, costs or expenses suffered or
incurred by such opposing Club as a result of such failure. The
amount of such compensation will in default of agreement between
the Clubs be determined by the RFU.
While it doesn't specifically say what happens in Worcester's
situation, the precedent is set at 20-0 & 5 points...

I understood that they are medical jokers so under the separate
£400k cap.

Bath lost three very big earners in Cipriani, Watson and Faletau
over the summer plus Schoeman and Rokodugni, and I can't see any
of the players coming in being on anywhere near the same (maybe
Roux?). So there may be some space for a few short-term
signings. It would also depend on whether they have to taken on
the full wages they had at Worcester or whether it is a new
negotiation.

I assume they're not all for the full season then? That's a lot
more than £400ks worth of player on an annual basis.

Not unless they can travel back in time.

Thought I read somewhere that it's initially for four weeks and
then see where Worcester are/aren't with new owners.
