That's because calling it crap is just offensive nonsense.
There's problems with it but you don't win that match with an
actually crap back row. Get a grip.

Quins keeping us on the edge of our seats again!
In the stadium Salakaia-Loto on Evans looked like a straight
red. Did I miss something? What was the mitigation for
downgrading to a yellow?

It was the officials jumping to conclusions early on. Talking
about it being players running into each other, then saying most
of the force was on the shoulder, completely ignoring it was off
the ball, etc.
Dallaglio made an absolute fool of himself trying to make out
Evans was also guilty

It was only right at the end that they tried to go through the
protocol and start at red then work down. It was a mess before
then. So it was them upgrading to a yellow rather than anything
else.

Thought Archie White had a good game - some excellent tackling.
Kenningham was a little bit off the pace and maybe needs a rest?
Finally we better pray that DC doesn’t make the England squad -
we seem to go to pieces when he’s not playing. (That said he did
butcher 2 or 3 attacking opportunities)

If you said ‘our back row doesn’t have the right balance at the
moment’ or noted that it’s ‘lacking ballast’ as T-Bone said, I
might have agreed with you, but when you just say it’s ‘crap’
without qualifying it in any way, you kill any argument you
might have wanted to present.
Kenningham, Evans and White is an an unfamiliar unit and it
shows. I thought they all had pretty decent games individually,
but they’re not working well in tandem and indeed, ‘lack
ballast’.
It’s not ideal, but without Dombrandt, Lawday and Chisholm, it’s
what we’ve got for now. I’d be in favour of giving Jurevicius a
start or possibly Lamb at 6, but that’s really all we could do
right now. There is Taulani, but TBH, I don’t think he’s up to
Premiership level yet. White lacks carrying power, but he’s
pretty tidy and works hard. Taulani would give the carrying but
I’d be more concerned about positioning in defence and from a
disciplinary POV, so I’d prefer to stick with White for now.

Actually, come to think of it, we were due to be playing
Worcester next round so we actually have a couple of weeks’ rest
until we play Tigers. Might be enough time to get some back
rowers back to fitness?
