Tizard gets a callup for moving to Saracens and playing worse
for them than he did for us.
Porter, who was genuinely dreadful in Australia, continues to
get in ahead of Marchant.
No Dombrandt for injury reasons, but he persists with Simmonds
who won't be available for selection for the world cup (as I
understand it) rather than someone like Tom Willis.
Cokanasiga continues to be picked on the basis of size and a
large slice of wishful thinking.
Jack Nowell continues to be picked on the basis of what he used
to be able to do, while Murley is ignored.
Manu's back! for the 20 minutes he'll last.
Jonny May! Who was last in form about 18 months ago.
Care dropped, but we all saw that coming.
Good to see Pearson and Ribbans in there.

Frustrating to see Tizard only get the recognition now that he's
moved. He's done nothing this season to suggest that he's more
ready now than he was for the BaaBaas game. Anyway, I'm pleased
for him, just annoyed we've lost him, so not really a proper
grumble.
Marchant has picked up where he left on and played really well.
I wonder if he annoyed Eddie on tour.
Marler not being selected in interesting. I wonder if it's by
agreement or if he's slipped down the pecking order.
Not at all surprised by Care. Usual comments about B Youngs
though.
No idea how Stuart still gets picked. I'm sure Ewels would have
been too if fit.
Might be time to accept that Cokanasiga really isn't good enough

I think Simmons will still be eligible for RWC duty as he won't
have joined his new French club at that point. Nick Mullins has
tweeted that Marchant has been told he has to "do some work on
his game". As this is just a training camp, there's every chance
that we could see either or both of the Joe M's included in the
final AI squad.

Stuart had a decent tour iirc. The bigger surprise is that Heyes
gets in ahead of a fit-again Sinckler.

Porter and Ben Youngs is laughable. Porter was awful, and Youngs
isn't even the best 9 at his club!

I know it's a training squad but there's some odd ones in there.
Still this is Eddie so not terribly surprising.
I assume Ribbans is only in because teachers pet Ewels is
injured.

Honestly, I can kind of see why Marchant has been told to work
on his game based on the Exeter match. I think at least two of
their tries came because Marchant turned in to make a big hit
instead of trusting his inside man and drifting to cover the
space. He was undeniably excellent in attack, but if he's making
mistakes like that then they'll be actively exploited at an
international level.
