With at least 19 tickets already up for resale via the
comments...
If the match on Oct 2nd isn't a sell out (per adverts), not
entirely sure how they can advertise it as a consecutive run of
sold out games. It's impressive, but if 1 match in the run
doesn't sell out, that's not an actual run...

Those resale tickets are sold whether they get resold or not.

No disputing this. It just always makes me chuckle that an event
is "sold out" but theres often space. It's a bit like counting
season tickets as part of the full house. Technically accurate,
but humorous in itself.

Well we used to be the most honest club in the league for
reporting crowds. We only reported bums on seats, not tickets
sold. However, we then looked poor compared with people like
London Irish, who reported seats sold regardless of whether
anyone watched the match. So we had to change to the way we do
it now and "sold out" no longer means there's no seats spare or
for sale, it means we've got our 14,800 or whatever the figure
is.

Honestly, it really isn't that funny. 🙂

Well "sold out" should include season tickets, as they've been
sold. A match selling out is different from the actual match day
attendance.
I think I was successful on the couple of occasions last season
when I tried to resell my ticket, which is a change from
previous years, so I would expect that a pre-match sell out does
now result in more or less 100% attendance for most games

Can’t they just count the number of people through the
turnstiles for an accurate figure or doesn’t that give a high
enough attendance for boasting about.

They do. That’s called the “attendance”.
It doesn’t stop the game being sold out if not everyone shows
up.

I do think if Quins ever got to a Welford-esque capacity of
20/25+000 it would sell out near enough every week as it feels
like there is a distinctively growing fanbase that would only be
encouraged to go more and a positive cycle would emerge if they
got a bigger sized gladiatorial stadium into action.
