Only going to be worse next year thanks to the world cup. For
the money the punters are paying, it's insane.

In what way is 3pt loss a ‘humiliation’? [emoji58]

Pretty sure there was a deliberate knock-on by Sarries when we
were attacking down the left with pen advantage for BV not
rolling away, around 55mins in I think, but wasn't mentioned on
commentary, by ref/TMO or any replay shown. Will be checking the
full match replay to see if I imagined it!

I wouldn't call it a humiliation, but when you consider we were
17 ahead within 10 mins...

Dallaglio also said last year that Farrell is the greatest Prem
player ever because of all the Prem medals he has 'won'. No
doubt his favourite Tour de France rider is Lance Armstrong for
all the yellow jerseys he 'won' too.

Well perhaps it’s because the two things are linked. We were
missing 3 of our 4 most important players - two of which are
mainly responsible for managing the game. Saracens were somehow
allowed access to virtually all of their England contingent so I
don’t think this result is any way shocking.

Sure, but you look at those two 23s and it’s not a huge surprise
the more experienced, expensively assembled side has a stack of
advantages that leads to a win.
Before the game the usual suspects could only see us being
‘mullered’. As disappointing as the result is, it certainly
wasn’t the crushing defeat the doom mongers seem to delight in
predicting.
Honestly, I swear there’s a few posters who are happier when we
lose than when we win.

From a roadmap perspective, we got the point we were looking for
and we're still ahead of plan.
It's just hugely frustrating that it ended the way it did.

Possibly related. But I think some supporters are happy to look
for mitigation wherever it can be found. We were miles ahead,
and a lot of that was down to luck. We stopped playing our game
and took the points, then tried to hold on. We adopted a really,
really bad kicking game and sarries played all the rugby in the
second half. Sure that's partly down to the missing eraonnel,
but don't tell me that team couldn't have beaten sarries with a
17 point lead.
We can't bang on about the quins way and then jettison it as
soon as we come up against a decent side.

Cheats somehow managing all their England contingent back and us
not, and having one of the worst refs officiating it was always
going to be an uphill struggle. Before the match would have
taken a bonus point but the disappointment was that we were
ahead. Seemed to drop off after key players went off injured as
well, need someone else to step up as Captain when Dommers went
off.
