Yeah. Better off trying to do something different - a
partnership with Youtube or something like that, that can really
grow the audience.

Thanks a fair point.
I guess there are 2 angles
1. Grow the game
2. Make it profitable
Without an external source of revenue, the only option is to
have high ticket/merchandise/food+bev prices.
A media deal (whether TV or Youtube) would give that external
source of income and could grow the game if done correctly.
I often harp on about France. My understanding is that they grow
the game there by putting matches on TV.
Fed 1 matches are on free TV.
D2 matches are on Canal+ Sport. But, their TV coverage is far
superior to what we usually get. For example, they get a
televised press conference, etc.
I could not imagine how Richmond could host a port match press
conference.
Also, our equivalent to Fed1 is Nat1. For context, RC.Narbonne
are in Fed1. (I was going to watch them play last week, but
messed the kick-off times up.) But, I can tell you that their
setup is far more professional than Ros.Park, Blackheath, etc.
The matches actually come across well on TV as they have lots of
passionate supporters, brass bands, etc. Basically, the TV
companies actually do a proper job on coverage.
