Why would it be cancelled, surely just Postponed

I would guess that after the last couple of years all sorts of
insurance has been taken out to cover unforeseen cancellations.

When you buy travel or hotel tickets you usually get an
opportunity to buy insurance. So its tough if you haven't

Eggchasers Podcast guys have just tweeted the following:

While Eggchasers can be controversial on some things, when it
comes to news, they tend to be pretty on the ball (I guess as
one of them would be likely to be involved on the Broadcast side
of any Televised games over the weekend).
UPDATE:
They've now followed that up with:

if you don't cancel then everyone will think the worst of you,

See the cricket for this conundrum - day 1 washed out, day 2
cancelled, limited option to add an extra day due to the players
leaving for Pakistan. Do you try to play on days 3, 4 & 5 to get
some form of game? Do you reschedule all the Pakistan travel?
Who compensates all the vendors if it's cancelled? Do you cancel
the whole thing and reschedule for next summer?
I am glad that I don't have to make these decisions, but it
re-emphasises the amount of money tied up in sport.
