But there might be more if they did this or set aside 100
tickets if people want sit in a lesser seat but only pay £30

Selling tickets at the Stoop isnt a problem we currently have.

Ticket prices don't matter whilst the stadiums are selling out
(for the club that is), Yes not everyone can afford it, I
myself only attend 2 or 3 games a season.
If there is a big fall in attendances the ticket prices will
always be where they are.
Also, Championes said about £200 for premium seats for the NZ
game... they were £174 (too much for Me), not cheap, but not
£200....this match will sell out so the prices are set for the
market, I don't agree with it but it's just life .

Me too. I normally go, and stand in the East.
Last year it was £42, up from the year before, and this year
£47. Nearly £50 to stand, so I'm giving it a miss and I'll watch
on TV.

It will defo sell out -- but to people who care even less than
the people who are there now, that's the problem. (seat rates do
vary depending on where you're getting them..200 quid was the
price we were given).
It just doesn't add up with "grow the game". Families - nope,
people wanting to "experience" rugby - nope, corporates on a
paid-for "business meeting"...yep.
I get they need to make money, but I live a short walk from HQ
with a wife and kids who love rugby and I can't see us going
back as a group - and I'm fortunate enough to have a relatively
decent job.

Spot on re the "grow the game" stuff.
All very well having these outreach programmes, Rugby X, trying
to crack America, etc, but if you can only watch a few games a
year on terrestrial TV and if you can't afford to get to a game,
you're not going to get new supporters on board.

Except Twickenham will sell out having sold a large number of
tickets (most? I've no idea what the split is) through grass
roots clubs. So that will either be club members or club
sponsors. I'd assume that at least a chunk of both groups are
rugby fans.
Which leaves those who attend on a "business meeting" - whether
as a guest of the club sponsors or through RFU sponsorship.
Believe it or not, these people can still be fans of rugby.
I get that Twickenham is now very expensive to many people - me
included, and for that reason I'll probably not go this season -
but to group all those who do attend as "people who care even
less than the people who are there now" is IMO wrong.
Unless you think people are spending £150-200/ticket on
something they don't enjoy.
It's easy to say that Twickenham (or the Stoop, the Oval,
Glyndebourne, whatever) is too expensive when we as individuals
can't afford it. But to fulfil all of its obligations (including
growing the game), the RFU needs cash and therefore needs to
maximise revenue. Basic economics says that you are underpriced
if you have excess demand and last I saw the big test matches
were at full capacity.
Sorry to rant to it is one of my bugbears that expensive tickets
supposedly price out the "true" fans. To me, that's no more true
than saying having (pretty much) every game at Twickenham
ignores "true" fans from the north. What people generally mean
is that the tickets are too expensive ticket for me.
tl:dr yes tickets to Twickenham are expensive but as long as
Twickenham is maximising revenue (presumably by being full) IMO
this can only be what is best for the English game. If that
means I personally can't go, it's a shame but I can understand
why it should happen.

Anyone can get to a game of rugby. Go watch a Champhionship team
or a Prem Cup game. If you specifically want an England watch,
watch the Red Roses or an U20s match. If you want to experience
Twickenham, go to Big Game, the 7s, the BaaBaas or the Varsity
Match.
And if you specifically want to watch England Men in a
meaningful fixture at Twickenham, there are still tickets
available for the Argentina and Japan games. Most expensive
ticket I found was less than £200 (£132 for lower tier on the
halfway line v Argentina although there only seemed to be
singles.)
