Ticket prices

I booked tickets for the Irish game in October and was surprised
how much they cost. I used to be able to pay about 30 quid that
far in advance, but they are now 45 quid plus a booking fee. I
bought some rubbish restricted view tickets for 33 quid
including the booking fee. With money getting ever more
stretched it will be a while before I do that again sadly.

Yeah just looked to buy an extra ticket where we sit in gold and
they’re £70 a go. Not sure my less rugby obsessed friends will
think it’s worth it any more for a night out.

Given the financial situation in rugby right now, I understand
why the club would charge whatever it reasonably can for
tickets. The problem to my mind comes only in so far as it
rewards richer new people (being able to get tickets) and hurts
poorer people who can't compete financially. But that's to a
large extent reflected everywhere in life. What might make it
fairer or kinder is if, say, pensioners and continuous 10-year
or more season ticket holders were able to get a 10% reduction
for their seats, and continuous 20-year or more season ticket
holders a 20% reduction for their seats. That genuinely rewards
loyalty through the good times and the bad versus the richer
Johnny Come Latelys.

That’s the point of membership, you get your seat guaranteed at
a reduced price, ok only works if you go to most games, and you
also get a discount on extra big game tickets
Everyone was a new supporter at sometime
When. I looked at Chiefs prices away this season I just decided
nope too much, but until the seats stop selling there won’t be
any price reduction and with the current climate let’s hope they
keep selling at the. High prices

The problem is when you look at England games at HQ, the prices
mean it’s now become pointless going. Cant get a ticket for less
than £200 between the dead ball lines for the NZ game.
Been lucky enough to go to about 30 England games in the past
decade or so. Won’t be going anymore - it’s all corporate and
people who can afford 400 quid for two tickets to a match.
Now we’re not there yet.
But have to say the people who’ve come and gone around us at the
stoop in the past 12 years have changed a fair bit recently.
70 quid a go in the posh seats….let’s see who we get turning up.
Realise the club need the cash - worried about what it’ll do to
the crowd.

Ex season ticket holder. I was one for 18 years, but not any
more. Prices are getting silly, especially now both my kids are
no longer concessions....

Soccer has a price cap of £30 for away fans. Ok may mean setting
aside part of a ground but a good idea.

Yes but its a numbers game. Soccer will attract quite a few more
away fans.
