There's a difference between being up to date on payments and
not owing any tax, but it's somewhat reassuring to see that
Quins are in a fairly typical position for the league as a
whole.

This has clearly been written by someone who doesn’t understand
tax or accounting - deferred tax is an accounting construct not
a tax liability.

It might not be untrue, but it is poorly researched. It seems to
have been put together in a rush by someone not well versed in
reading balance sheets.
In particular, the accounting term deferred tax is not the same
as money owed to the taxman today.

Apart from Taxman who do these clubs owe money to? I expect a
lot will be to other companies involved with the running of the
club
