I believe the players can elect to play if they want to. Ellis
Genge played for Bristol last weekend and he started all three
tests. Closer to home, Marchant played the second half last
weekend and Walker was due to be on the bench. I wouldn’t be
overly surprised to see Care and Smith starting on Saturday.

Reported that Farrell, Maro & Mako are all likely to feature for
Sarries.

I don't really understand how players like Genge and Maro can
come back early when I'm pretty sure they were involved in all
matches. Wasn't Farrell as well?
I can understand players who hardly had any game time being
allowed to come back early (although they were still presumably
involved in all training sessions)
Foley as referee is not great
Think this could be a struggle

It's ridiculous one way or another.
There's either a big commitment to player welfare or there
isn't.
10 weeks may have been an arbitrary thing, but now it just looks
silly regardless of if you're in favour of it or not.
Genge has played a huge amount of rugby in a brutal position,
he's back but Care/Smith weren't (and aren't this week we're
told).
It looks bad if you think they should be on a break, it looks
bad if you think you should have the team's big stars playing to
attract fans/viewers, and it looks bad if you're just not sure
what the heck is going on or why, because it just looks totally
arbitrary.
Players will always want to play, fans just want to know what on
earth is going on.
Another triumph of making the sport even harder to understand.

My heart (which is divided into quarters, just like the Quins
shirt) disagrees with you, my head agrees with you.
