West Country team in financial trouble

In the rugby paper today, talk about the issues at Worcester and
Wasps as is well known, but follow it up with two other clubs in
trouble says one in the north and one in the West Country.
Assume the northern one is Newcastle, they had England players
       payment issues last season.
Who is the West Country team? Bristol? Bath? Gloucester or
       Exeter?

It’s unlikely to be Exeter, given they have relatively low debt,
have historically been in good financial shape and also have a
       strong backer.
Bristol have their salary cap woes, but Stephen Lansdown is a
billionaire so unless he’s looking to cut the cords it seems
       unlikely it’s them.
So that would suggest Bath or Gloucester. No idea what shape
       they’re in.

I know I just can’t see it in the West Country but none of us
       really know to be fair.

Knowing a little of Gloucesters operations, it 'could' be them,
they lost Mitsubishi as their main sponsor season before last
and that was the highest cash value primary sponsorship deal in
the league and with the vehicle add one it was a hefty annual
contribution. No disrespect to Speedy Skips but I doubt they
have the same money as Mitsubishi Motors UK.

It can hardly have been a shock that they lost Mitsubishi
sponsorship as they announced that they were withdrawing from
the UK market a couple of years ago. They’ve had plenty of time
       to sort outa new one.

Bath would be my bet. Their revenue due to their ground size
probably isn’t going to help their coffers.
Feels a bit like a closing down sale for some clubs. Wouldn’t
mind having Piers Francis as someone to replace Huw Jones

Gloucester's accounts up until June 21 show a small profit - due
to the £3.8m increase in value of the P-shares.
Its net assets amounted to £8m.
This was a covid year, so income was well down - but so were
       costs of sales.
It looks a lot less bleak than Worcester or Wasps. If they have
run out of money, then I would worry about many others.

Bath on the other hand, seem to owe £13m net, mainly to Bruce
       Craig.

I presume they expanded their ground in recent years as they
averaged around 14,000 crowds for prem games last season.
