Great opening to that song. Didn’t Irish use it for awhile? I
seem to recall hearing it at one of the double headers when
Irish came out.

Don't remember that game other than the music but we also played
the Hovis tune for Leeds once. Our seats in the old West Stand
were in front of where they normally sat the visiting
"dignitaries". That day we had the Leeds President and his wife.
We'd had a pleasant chat before the teams came out but the Hovis
tune made them absolutely livid. Luckily they'd calmed down by
the end of the game, which Leeds won. Don't know how much it
affected the Leeds players - I think that was their best season
in the Prem anyway.

That was really embarrassing. The old lines were so obvious; I
think everyone thought the same thing - they are going to make
us pay. I remember Cueto and Hanley just kept cutting in and
running tries in through the middle of the pitch. It was
excruciating. And absolutely what we deserved.
I think that incident is also partly why I cringe when people
talk about "the Quins way" and "quins DNA". I suspect they are
too young to have witnessed that humiliation.

Mayhe for our match against Saracens, the away side could be the
imperial march from empire Strikes Back to run on the pitch to

Guscott and Dalaglio were sat in the box behind me that day and
when I got home they were on the TV laughing at us.....find it
funny that was one of the games I still recall like it was
yesterday! the quins way at that point was passing it across the
pitch very slowly and then back and forth until you lost the
ball ;)

When you think about it, would make sense to play the
oppositions song when they come on ( The one they use at home)
would obviously get a good reaction from the visiting
supporters, but would without doubt prove a reaction from the
home support and help build the atmosphere

What would be play for Sarries? Money, money money? Bad to the
bone? That old Ivor Biggun song?
