Less likely to happen here. Certainly with the way Harlequins
play I would say you get entertained for your money, but is that
true of all games and all teams?
And while I agree people want to see "ball in play", I'd dispute
it's the cards and TMO stops that are the problem. I'm quite
happy if the game stops to check a high tackle or piece of
skullduggery. It's the endless kick tennis that does my head in.

I would agree, the game might have been better in the past in
many ways. It's been sanitised and rule bound and controlled
now. Nowadays you have to have rules/laws about lying the wrong
side of a ruck, in the old days the opposing team would roll
over you and when you could breathe again, you vowed never to
get the wrong side of a ruck again! Lesson learned!

I'd certainly agree that rugby was better then, but that's a lot
more to do with the obsession with size and big hits - looking
for contact rather than space. Unfortunately I don't know how
you get back to that.

matches to the national side?

Not sure how that affects the time the ball is in play or the
number of cards issued or TMO interventions.

RL will soon have the same sort of watershed moment regarding
head injuries that RU and the NFL are currently in the midst of.
I watched the State Of Origin decider a couple of weeks back
with Aussie commentary & post game analysis, and they are still
in thrall to the idea of the big "Bosh" and the big "Hit" in the
tackle. In the first five minutes of the game, they lost 3
players to concussions and the comments were along the lines of
"That's a bit soft, we want the big hits & the players to just
get on with it".

Yep, you have to wonder how in RL they are not taking this
seriously yet. You'd think that the longer it goes on, and the
more other sports publicise the risks, the greater the potential
lawsuit

Paying Xamount per year only to see your team field a full
strength team for barely half the season. I know lots of people
who are getting bored of it. But if youre not sure then thats
fine. Not everyone can be an expert. Hopefully someone with a
bit more of a clue about the 2 disciplines knows the answer

Your presumptions fail you then.
Are you not allowed to expand on that by asking further
questions in comparison of the two disciplines?
Are the points you raise in your first reply to me (that didnt
even seek to answer my question) " the time the ball is in play
or the number of cards issued or TMO interventions" not all
affected by lesser able players being on the pitch than their
superior counterparts who are away 50% of the time on national
duty? Leading to (as I say....again), people becoming bored with
Union.
Feel free to reply with a discssion point but I cant be bothered
with your snooty dismissive responses again
