I'm not so sure, if someone has transitioned and is legally a
female would they be allowed to play on a mens team? It just
wouldn't work. Btw I'm not arguing against the decision the RFU
has made.

OK. I went to the science. The critical paper appears to be this
one:

strength after a year or more of testosterone suppression - but
are likely to have had a 10-50% advantage before treatment.
If that’s the case, then that’s a big enough disparity to
justify exclusion - but it’s likely that it needs more
investigation as the numbers involved are small and longitudinal
data is pretty limited.

There have been 7 transgender applications wanting to play in
womens teams and one non binary in 5 years, and 4 men
But we are meant to believe this is a huge issue
Of course should you say anything you are accused of being a
bigot etc
Look at swimming and the way Sharon Davies has been treated ,
utter madness

Been called far worse, and also incorrectly, but it does appear
that you can’t have a discussion on the topic without insults
being thrown, hence the reference to Sharon Davies

I think this highlights one of the confusions. Transitioning
would involve a lengthy course of treatment, surgery etc.
"Identifying as" could simply be a man simply deciding he's a
woman. Which he wouldn't be.

I still don't get your point. So trans person who identifies as
a woman could play on a men's team? Do you really think that
would work? I was talking about people who have gone through
transition, lowered testosterone etc. They will no longer be
able to play the sport at all (correct me if I'm wrong?)
I get the reasons why the recommendation/decision has been made
but as Emily's video points out it must be a kick in the guts
for the trans community.

Can't see any insults on this thread, which seems to run the
entire gamut of opinions from "trans people should be allowed to
compete" to "trans women don't exist, they're just men making
it up".
Sharon Davies? Is she the one who's been living off an
inheritance for years and has decided to blame her views on
trans people for her finally running out of money, because
charities don't fancy using a controversial minor celebrity any
more?
