All, as a Quinssa Committee member I can tell you, there was no
consultation or engagement with the Club in advance of this
launch.
We heard about it at the same as everyone else when the club
publicised it yesterday.
We don't know enough to form an opinion, positive or negative at
this point. As a rule we would be generally supportive of any
Club initiative in the 1st instance but will obviously take
onboard thoughts or feedback from our members via recognised
channels such as emails direct to ourselves.
If the overwhelming feeling from our membership was negative, we
would obviously communicate this to the Club

Hello All .
Im Phil Gibson , Vice Chair of Quinssa and admin on the Twitter
Account .
I can assure everyone that we had first sight of this yesterday
morning at the same time you did .
Yesterday was very sharp learning curve , we have a natural
inclination to support the Club , but this is clearly an emotive
subject and we have therefore taken a cautious approach .
We were contacted by media outlets for a statement and this was
was issued , by me as a 'press release'
"The Partnership with Socios was only has only been announced
this morning and Quinssa have not had an opportunity to look
through the details , generally speaking anything that allows
Supporters to build a closer relationship with the playing squad
will be supported and encouraged by Quinssa "
Some outlets have used the whole , the BBC chose only to use the
second part of that .
Our advice on Twitter so far has been to take the Freebie then
sit back and observe .
We have asked Quins management for more details , which I hope
will be forthcoming soon
We are grateful for all feedback and are in contact today with
the Supporters Associations of Sarries and Tigers to try and get
a complete picture
Quinssa will make a statement in due course when we feel
informed enough to do so .
Please email me directly if you have a contribution to the
debate
phil@quinssa.org.uk
Thank you
Phil Gibson

Long time reader just registered to post about this.
As I understand it you need to purchase an unregulated crypto
currency in order to participate in this unregulated pyramid
scheme.
Of course as always you don't have to join but many are likely
to do so because they think they are supporting the club and
buying into something endorsed by the club.
But why on earth would the club partner with an organisation
offering this? Are we so desperate for money that the club are
willing to make a few quid at the expense of loyal supporters?
I hope Mr Dalrymple reconsiders this and shows some integrity
and withdraws from the partnership.

But taking the Season Ticket Holder "freebie" NFT isn't a
neutral position, it's joining in with this nonsense - if only
by artificially inflating the uptake of Harlequins NFTs. There's
also the energy costs (not insignificant) of the Season Ticket
Holder NFTs being minted. I have already emailed the club to
express my dissatisfaction and to ask for an option to stop my
Season Ticket Holder NFT from being minted.
This isn’t going to have a positive ending. Harlequins NFTs will
not have a better performing market than all of the football
clubs’ NFTs which are tanking and losing people money.
Can Quinssa survey its membership to take a position on this?

The simple way to look at is if its so good why aren't the
premier soccer clubs doing it on mass?

To be fair though the 2nd part of the message you say the BBC
chose to use is also pretty much what you put on twitter

So I've spent a day considering this, and honestly, the more I
think about it the less I like it. I might go into a bit more
detail about exactly why later (when it's a bit cooler!), but
the short version is that there is no legitimate reason for
blockchain to be involved in this. So the fact that is involved
leads me to think that it's intended to create a predatory
cycle, in which a small number of people will spend more and
more money to make up for their losses. Personally, I see no way
that this ends well if Quins go ahead with using this system.

Hi Adrian ,
I think if you look back you will see that the portion you have
selected is the second part of a longer Tweet , sadly the
limitations of 140 characters
I'm not sure what point you are making with this , but if you
believe ive said something incorrect or misleading in my
previous post please contact me and Im really happy to have a
chat with you and clarify anything .
Regards
Phil

Nothing to clarify, just saying the beeb quote is very similar
to that tweet so easily taken in isolation.
Thanks

Disappointing that Quinssa seemingly have gone with the club and
not really been transparent. Getting Vichy France vibes.
For what its worth its a stupid idea, trying to drain more money
out of fans when a lot of people are struggling. If the club
wants to build the relationship between club and fans, great,
offer them in competitions or for charitable donations. Anything
else and its solely about lining someone's pocket.
