It does read a bit like a plot from the TV companies.
"You all lose in the opening week, then in week 2 you all win
and so we'll get a HUGE audience for that final week!

No it wasn't. It was the middle game in a summer tour. And we
won, which is handy for placating those who think we're down
there for some sort of competition.

Which is exactly what he did in 2016 🧐

I don’t think EJ will really change too much from a “winning”
team. With tactics I’d rather Farrell at 10 (off to church after
to confess sins) but realistically I think I’d like to see Henry
get a start in place of freeman who can take the bench cover
spot. I don’t really see the point in giving May a go, this
isn’t a critical game really so we need to see what else we have
in the locker.
Sam Underwhelming is trading on past glories so Willis or Ludlam
deserve a start, I’d opt for Willis.
I’d also like to see me called up and flown out for the final
test to do a bit of punditry

Smith will thrive once Eddie has gone and no longer has to play
rugby by rote

Which bits of rote did you spot yesterday?

This constant carping at Smith is getting irritating. Sure he
did not have his best game but he is being asked to step up to
international rugby playing an unconventional system to fit in
with an established player - Farrell.
Yesterday he was playing his first game with a new scrum
half(who did very well) and yet another backs line up.
The timing of runs off Smith was understandably awry and Porter
and Nowell overran the ball. It will take time to gel.
Farrell had a good game yesterday but what creativity there was
came through Smith.
There will be mistakes which are more costly at international
level. But it takes time.

I wasn't querying his performance - just that he was playing in
a predetermined way. I thought he played what was in front of
him as he normally does but not a lot came off

Exactly this, England under Jones are playing anti rugby,
reminiscent of Salarycens a few seasons back. It's far from the
exciting attacking rugby he promised us
