Away Tickets - Does Football have it right!?

So in the Premier league away tickets a re capped at £30 'to
reflect the increased costs for travelling fans' and now the 2nd
Tier Championship is looking/trying to do the same but at £20
       price cap.
Might we worth a thought in the Rugby Premiership, would it help
increase away travel to boost attendances?
Granted Quins sell out every match now but other clubs struggle
to sell out or even get close to 50% in a fair few cases.
If the away tickets were set at a cheap price would you travel
       to away games more?

I agree with it in principle but football has dedicated home and
away ends where fans don't mix so it is easier to police.
What is stopping me buying a reduced cost away ticket to The
Stoop and still travelling from London? Unless they are going to
start having away ends in rugby which I would prefer not to have

If they were allocated out to the away teams supporters clubs
such as qQuinssa or the LGBTQ+ one then ticket sales would be
controlled to an extent, assuming they would be willing up
       manage the process.

My short answer is that I don’t think it would have much impact
on those clubs who have the lowest attendances.
For the sake of an explanation, I’m working on the assumption
that a ticket to a Sale game is (let’s say) £35 and it was
reduced to £25 for away fans.
That’s still not going to change the fact that the game is 200
miles from London and 100 miles from the nearest team.
Saving £10 on a ticket doesn’t put much dent into an 8hr round
trip by car or a £100 train ticket (plus potentially a hotel).
Tl:dr if you’re looking to attract more away fans to the teams
who struggle most for attendance, have more clubs near them.

Would be handy for Irish v Quins at Brentford - We could fill
all those empty seats very easy :0

Precisely this in my view, plus also the fact that it's hard
enough for the Prem clubs to make money as it is, so it's hardly
fair to heap even more financial hardship on clubs such as
Quins, Bath and Leicester who can regularly sell out their
grounds as it is today by forcing them to drop the cost of some
       tickets for away fans.

Doesn’t make much sense in rugby
Don’t think any teams are in the black, and reducing income
       doesn’t make much sense

Debatable point, does more bums on seats generate a higher
stadium spend therefore increasing overall turnover and profit
ie beer, food, merchandise Vs just seat revenue.

Example, 88 pints/50L of Carling costs wholesale £150, rugby
sale price £5 a pint, = £300 profit, less 4 hours staff wage
£40, net profit £260. If one extra bum on seat buys three pints
that's £10 profit, the cost of the seat discount covered, Any
other purchases deliver pure additional profit.
Plus large venues don't pay £150 a keg so the real profit figure
       is higher.
God knows how much Quins make off me, or did before when I could
get home tickets, now the home teams profit's off me and my
group as we do away games mostly now, another example of a
       bigger stadium being needed.
