I don't think us winning this is impossible but it's pretty
unlikely. The salary cap makes it a lot harder as people have
mentioned, and the south africans are an unknown quantity
against which we haven't played before. The way those side play,
though, typically resembles the playing sides of sides we tend
to struggle with (Sale, Saracens) who have similar DNA.
That said, we played four games against the two Top 14 finalists
and Won 3 Lost 1 (and in that loss, shipped 28 points in 10 mins
of sheer madness, otherwise controlled the game) and acquitted
ourselves well the rest of the time and were probably unlucky to
go out by a point to what are now the Top 14 champions. It
wasn't necessarily the first XVs playing each other, but that
       cut both ways.
We are returning 90% + of the same squad again, and the young
guns are a year wiser. A quarter final would be an achievement,
but I don't think that's the ceiling. The only team in last
year's competition that would really have given us proper
worries that we couldn't surpass on any given day is Leinster,
just because of how cohesive they are. That said, as the final
evidence, even they can be stopped and have bad days. They wont
be the same side when Sexton leaves or isn't playing.
Next year is a trip into the unknown, but should we get to
knockout rugby again, I would not rule us out.
