I believe supporting the Ladies game is tactically a shrewd
move. We are not alone in doing this so it would seem that it is
worth doing. It is for the greater good of the game of Rugby in
my view.
As for supporting the Academy, I guess I would always prefer
supporters cash to be used for Rugby purposes rather than random
outside charitable works tbh.

Please explain?

The ever growing salary cap, marquee players, seas of red ink
across premiership rugby clubs financial results - that this
point is probably a high water mark for the size of TV deal the
clubs can hope to achieve. The game as it stands is resting
mostly on the willingness of rich club owners willing to
underwrite the ongoing losses.
Sorry we're veering OT here a bit! Not too impressed by how the
club have gone about this. Bit amateur hour. Happy to support
the academy and the ladies but be upfront about it.

all for anyone who plays sport at any level and fair play to
them for getting off their backside and doing something
worthwhile. I have watched a couple of games and I am just not
interested. If it is taking money from the club which lost over
6m last year and has a men's squad which is inadequate I would
far rather the money spent on the women';s team was used to pay
for better players for the men;'s team.

Beyond your laughable trolling, how would giving the money to
the men’s team work old son?
I’m sure there’s a thing called a salary cap.
Or can we all chip in to buy a Kiwi 7?

The nature of professional sport is that the business side
strives to hoover up every last scrap of cash it can in the hope
that this will give them some short lived competitive advantage.
In very short order this money goes out to the playing side,
mainly in the form of wages to the very top players (and to a
lesser extent, top coaches). Then all the competition has to do
the same in order to keep up. And so everyone is back to where
they were before except that the players wages are higher. And
so the ratchet keeps ratcheting up....
The only way to stop this is to have a very tight unified
administrative structure which is able to put "the good of the
game" (whatever that is) above individual competitiveness. Sadly
this seems impossible to achieve in rugby, in both the
international and the domestic game. Personally I think this is
because there are too many ex-props involved, who only know one
way to do anything....head down and push as hard as you can

My immediate thought with the Foundation pack when I received it
was: how much is this costing?

What Foundation pack? What £250?
Or are us peons in the Jester seats deemed too cash strapped to
be worth approaching?! ;-)
Or, more likely, I skim read and binned whatever this is
everyone is talking about.

I got something from the club and binned it without reading it.
I presume that's what people are talking about.

They are trying to dress up the fact that when you resell your
ticket which you already paid for, they are only giving you 50%
back and keeping the other 50% to boost profits. Saying they
will put the money back into the academy and women's teams just
means they won't spend other funds on them. It's like saying
bring back your TV and we'll give you a 50% refund. You wouldn't
accept it anywhere else. It's a mickey take indeed.

The club isn't obliged to offer the facility and members don't
have to use it.
Members won't have paid full match day price for each game so
50% back pretty much covers what you pay.
You comparison to returning a tv is ridiculous.
