Laurie did say it's 2/3 years until we get an extra circa 2000
       seats.
New stadium is 'future' plans so 5-10+ years.

I think that's a bit too long term, if they are selling out
season tickets and selling out matches you need to get on with
it, or people will drift off and do something else or another
       team to support.

I guess it is that far out as the finances have to be in place
and the damage that covid did to the book repaired. The club
borrowed government money which has to be repaid first. I would
expect two games a season across the road with Quins looking to
sell both out, which will help the books

And the redevelopment of the area behind the North Stand should
(presumably) allow beer to be sold more quickly, which should
reduce queues and get more money in the coffers.
My guess is that Laurie's doing the classic trick of milking
more cash from existing supporters until such time as he can get
more supporters in to the ground.

No doubt there's also planning and safety licencing hoops to
jump through for an increase in capacity. It took a while to get
permission to build the "new" South Stand. I wouldn't be
surprised if it is harder/takes longer to get clearances to
alter/replace existing stands & structures than it would be to
       create a complete new build.

I can't say how it's currently done, but in the past things like
hospitality/beer sales were simply outsourced for a fixed
amount. So selling more or less beer wasn't the club's risk, it
was the licensee's. I think this is why the whole process is
pretty mediocre, the licensee knows they're going to make a
certain amount on the day and doesn't view good service/good
product as important. In the so called "real ale" bar, you get a
bunch of beers you've never heard of because they're simply
Greene King output with funny names. At Northampton they had
real real ales, Tribute, Youngs etc.. which was vastly superior.
But the club doesn't care because it's got the money and the
licensee doesn't care because it's selling Greene King swill and
       we are the ones shafted.

Not sure it works quite like that DOK - I recall David Ellis
telling us that the club had signed a new deal with Greene King
to provide beer for the bars so the club must buy the dishwater
themselves and outsource the running of the bars

       Supply and demand, innit?
Go back 5-6 years, we weren't filling the stadium so they had
some very good deals on offer. Today, we are so they can afford
to bring the prices up a notch or two. They'll lost a few STHs
who can't or don't want to pay that much, but the waiting list
is healthy enough that they can find more.
That plus BSKO (and I wouldn't be surprised if the good deal
we've negotiated is multi-year) helps to restore the finances
and build the case for a bigger stadium - but once we have it we
might expect a price freeze and some good deals to help fill it,
       until demand exceeds supply again.
As fans, we'd like ticket prices to be immune to inflation, but
we also want the club to be financially viable and ultimately
not to depend on the largesse and forebearance of a couple of
       rich blokes.
The club has to find a balance and I think they're being fairly
sensible about it, even if it hurts the pocket. For us, we were
facing the expiry of our family ticket deal this year, which
would have doubled our ticket cost, but the club helped us find
new seats where the kids could sit in a cheaper category in the
row in front of the adult tickets - which kept the price hike to
a manageable level while also meeting the club's goals.
