No way he is going to Australia. Not a chance
Alex Mitchell should get a shot though always looks decent for
Saints

So if Eddie Jones picks Care he's just being spiteful and
cynical, and if he doesn't he's being stubborn and playing
favourites. It's times like this when you almost get the feeling
that some people just have it in for EJ, facts and consistency
be damned.

I suspect Eddie Jones does know how old Danny is. So why is he
picking him (if the rumours are true)? I suspect it's a "horses
for courses" move, the idea being Australia is not the place to
blood new talent. I haven't seen the Australian side, I don't
know how much sense that makes.
It would be nice to think it's also a kind of admission that EJ
was wrong to continue with his robotic way of playing when DC
was arguing for more of a free flowing running game, but I
think just picking DC again is the closest you're going to come
to that .

I’ll try and explain what I meant as I didn’t exactly make it
clear. My initial reaction was why is he picking Care if he’s
not going to take him to Australia?
I’m not saying he definitely won’t pick him but if he doesn’t
then taking away Cares chance to play to the BaBas when there
are other options available seems harsh.
I’m sure Eddie’s had a conversation with Care about his
intentions but it all seems a bit last minute (he was on his way
to join up with the BaBas).
Of course Care could say “thanks but no thanks” but he’s not
going to turn down the chance to pull on the England shirt again
and it would also likely ruin any chance of being called up
again in the future.
I really hope Care does go to Australia and is in Eddie’s plans,
he’s been the best 9 in England in recent years and was close to
touring with the Lions by all accounts.
I just want him to be given a fair crack as he’s been brilliant
for us and IMO has deserved another shot with England for a long
time.
I don’t agree Eddie is being spiteful and vindictive by
selecting him and if he is in contention to tour Australia then
I stand corrected.
My point is that if Eddie doesn’t take him it would be tough on
Care to miss out on the chance to play for a BaBas just because
Eddie wanted to fill a gap in the squad after ignoring him all
this time.

Yeah, I'm only seeing the positive side of this. Pleased for
Danny and the Baa Baas can wait another year.
At a school event Eddie attended recently, he did seem genuinely
gutted that Rafi wouldn't be able to tour so I think this could
be part of getting the squad ready for a different mindset. And
as Rafi is basically DC 2.0, then I think this makes sense. And
when he signs for Quins for the 23/24 season onwards (sorry
Yareet) all will be good with the world.

Well, if the footage posted on Reddit of Owen Farrell lamping
Joe Marchant in a ruck on Saturday gets looked at by the citing
commissioner, Eddie’s going to need someone to manage the game
for Marcus, and Danny’s the remaining unbanned choice…
