Earl was smug last year in the Semi-final when he scored and his
normal unpleasant self around the pitch. His face was nice
picture at the end of extra time however.
He is a good player but there are other as good if not better
around the premiership who are as competitive on the pitch but
more sportsman like in how they do it. Ludlum and Ludlow spring
to mind both aggressive and brilliant players. Nice to know
they will keep him out of the England team.

Really? I've not noticed anything about his appearance.
Also. I think 4 days is a rather short time to come to an
opinion.
I suspect you've been here before.

Well done Leicester, well won and deserved.
A great result for rugby and proof you can't buy the title, not
saying Saracens are in breach of the cap this year, but lots of
existing players are still benefiting from the 3 years of salary
cap breaches through property, savings and investments.
Justice is served by a tiger 🐯🐯🐯
If it wasn't to be Quins in pleased for Leicester as every
Leicester fans I've met has been sound.
Looking forward to next season.

Ok, I realise this is probably a bit miserable but you have no
idea whether Quins or Tigers actually gamed it a bit. 😁

I'm not saying you specifically said anything about his
appearance, but other posters definitely did. You're right, I
have been here before - I've lurked the board for several years
before finally deciding to make an account after the Sarries
game.

Very poor game , very poor reffing from Barnes again 2 clear cut
red cards under current laws.

I really don't understand why; with all your knowledge and
expertise, the Premiership don't get you to referee the next
final, rather than using someone like Barnesy.
I mean he has got no experience and knows less than you!
Do they use him because he lives locally and must be cheaper?

I thought it was just me that found him annoying. It's just the
OTT goading celebration of every penalty, scrum win, turnover
etc. Usually in the face of the oppo. Definitely aimed to wind
up IMO.
I expect it starts when they win the coin toss for kick off.

He's not wrong, though. There's been a sudden shift in how these
things are ruled, and the frankly absurd situation we now have
where if the ball carrier "wins" the collision then it's
essentially regarded as lower danger. So we had Billy getting
away with what was a red card every time for the last few
seasons against us, Davies getting away with the same against
Montoya (who was clearly hit hard and got decked by it), and
Scott getting away with the same on Billy who was taken out of
the game by it.
So the possible explanations are a deliberate change that no one
has bothered to let anyone know about (unlikely given Ugo's
response), simple mistakes by referees, or there's been a
subconscious shift because of the "big game" nature of the semi
finals and final.
These aren't incredibly complicated decisions - there's a clear
framework and a lot of precedent to refer to. You don't need to
be a referee to judge them.
