didn’t make it this year but there is more to life than rugby.
Tigers and Sarries deserve it this year we have not been at our
best for sometime.

Couldn’t agree more, have met some great supporters from other
clubs, just because your shirt is a different colour doesn’t
mean you shouldn’t get along

I'm glad to say the behaviour of the Harlequins fans near me was
great. Yes, we all had a bit of craic with the Saracens fans,
but just as you do as two sets of rugby supporters. The Saracens
fans were fine, they were passionate (yes, really!) in support
of their club and good for them. At the end of the game we all
shook hands, had I met them in the pub after, I'd have bought
them a beer.
And as for people shouting "you got no fans", did they not hear
the cries of "Saaaaris Saaaaris!" fill a stadium yesterday?
Truly disappointed to hear this report.

It's not a surprise though. Look at all the spiteful, whining
posts on here about them. It's only a short hop away from
vocalising those feelings face to face.

Yeah some of the reaction posts are somewhat bonkers. I
definitely understand holding the cheating against Saracens - I
do - and the players screaming in opposition faces is ridiculous
at this stage, but there's a distinct smell of "a guy telling a
girl she's ugly because she just turned him down" about all of
this

It is a shame seeing more and more of the negative football
culture creep in. Like you say DOK, banter between fans is one
thing and what rugby fans do really well. It’s a shame that a
slow paced but growing minority of fans seem to behave more and
more in an ungraceful manner.
It does seem to be more common in the groups of fans aged below
30 (again, a small minority of that group). I’m not ageist in
any way whatsoever, I’m below 30 myself. Sadly I think even
though some know that they are acting like right doughnuts
behaving this way, some who maybe are more accustomed to
football spectator negative shenanigans might not really be
savvy that in rugby this just isn’t the way to behave. You think
common sense and respect would tell people that but there’s less
and less of that these days also.
And so I keep thinking to myself, how can we combat this in a
constructive and informative way.
I think a good start would be the Premiership Rugby’s Instagram
page or YouTube page to maybe stick some reminders in somewhere
for fans to be respectful, maybe even run a short video piece on
it involving fans who have experienced it, stand staff who have
witnessed it and get a few star players in on it giving their
thoughts on why it should have no place in the game. Maybe
another good way to get through to these types of fans would be
for podcasters such as Two Woods Four Quarters etc to do a piece
on it also. It’s not their job I know; but it would be a good
piece of content for them. I’m podcasts/Instagram/Facebook
groups etc relaying this message will get through to the people
partaking in this sort of behaviour as I know the podcasts rake
in a good amount of fans listening and appeal to many different
fans across the board. Unfortunately I don’t think many of the
offenders read these forums.
Hopefully we see change. I’m thankful that respecting the
kickers seems to mostly still be a thing. Let’s hope that
doesn’t change anytime soon

And if a fan needs to make a hostile noise when they've been
asked to be respectful then he/she should find another sport.

Wasnt it Nev that said he prefers the noise??. When he first
came over the general quiet took getting used to?? Sure he said
the noise reminded him of home and how it is.

I miss the 'disagree' button.

I find it a bit odd that kickers are singled out for this
special kind of respect. If it's a tradition at a ground then
fine, but this manufactured "please respect the kickers" stuff
and all the shushing that goes with it is just annoying.

I believe the convention is to use "Bad Spelling".
