       The big picture…

I’ve read some negative feedback on Quins today so thought I’d
throw my thoughts into the ring (for what they’re worth!) This
isn’t necessarily just about today but where the two clubs are
       (in my opinion).
Quins have built a brand of rugby that people want to watch.
They attack the opposition and try to win the game even if
sometimes this doesn’t happen (like today).
Compare that to Sarries who set about to stop the opposition
playing with little regard to trying to “win” the game
themselves. Today they slowed the breakdown down, were offside
most times and Itoje has become Englands answer to Richie McCaw
in that he cheats as much as he can without trying to play rugby
       himself.
Yes they’re very good at it and will probably be Premiership
champions this year but the fan experience is terrible even
outside of the brand of rugby they play. Getting to the ground
is a nightmare (unless you happen to live 400 yards from the
stadium), the beer and food queues are terrible, the beer
(Wolfpack Pilsner in particular is one of the worst beers I’ve
ever suffered) and the ground is so badly set up that if you’re
in the West Stand you’re likely to miss portions of the game due
to being cut off from the rest of the stadium to allow the
       players in and out.
The pub after (by their ground) ended up being purely Quins
songs being sung even though we had lost!
Yes I’ve gone home a loser on the scoreboard today but the last
18 months have been spectacular and I’ll have memories for life.
I’m not sure how many Sarries fans will ever experience Bristol
2021 or Exeter 2021 so I’ll let them have their moment today
whilst thinking about how good next season might be as a Quins
       fan!
       COYQ!!

I saw some stuff from Quins supporters I never want to see again
Shouting at their fans “ Your S..t and got no fans”, amongst
       other things
A Sarries supporter next to me said, the days of appreciating
good Rugby seem to be disappearing and one eyed “ just my club”
is really starting to raise its head
Yes we had some Sarries fans shouting crap as well, but general
       sportsmanship seems to be going
We made a point when leaving to say “ well played” when we left
       .
I really hoped the “ football” mentality doesn’t grow as tbh Met
some really decent opposition supporters yesterday As you do at
       most away trips

When I was leaving the Big Summer Kick Off game I witnessed
something similar, a group of boys probably only just old enough
to buy their first beers were following a group of Gloucester
supporters back to the station signing about s!*h they were etc.
Sadly I can only see this growing in the game.

Really really sad to hear this. Have always had friends at other
clubs and I enjoy being with them at matches and all the banter.
All the years we suffered at the hands of Bath and Wasps and now
they are pleased for us. ... Of course we are all sad we didn’t
make it this year but there is more to life than rugby. Tigers
and Sarries deserve it this year we have not been at our best
       for sometime.

We were beaten by a better team yesterday, who didn’t allow us
to play our game. But take a look at the year we’ve had -
improved our league position to 3rd, played scintillating rugby,
which all neutrals appear to appreciate. The Stoop is a
fantastic experience and we have developed a large, vocal and
colourful away support, which is unrivalled in English rugby.
The a result of all this means that we have a thousand new
people on waiting list for Season Tickets for next year.
Annual report - not a bad year at all !

Sad to hear about some of the crowd behaviour from our
supporters. Seems to be creeping in across rugby in general.
While we need to self police a bit I think the players could do
with setting a bit of an example themselves. Backchat seems to
be incessant, the whooping and hollering at winning a turnover
etc is all stuff that promotes the very opposite of
sportsmanship. I think as two clubs we tend to bring out the
       worst in each other.

The way Saracens play is not bad to watch and complaining about
them slowing the breakdown is weird - it's a core part of the
sport and we do the same whenever we can.

I'd like to add to the first post. I went yesterday and , yes,
the result was disappointing but what was brought home to me was
the quality of the Stoop/Twickenham town experience when
compared to the StoneyX and surrounding area (and I imagine some
other grounds as well). We have a very polished match day
experience with plenty of food and drink outlets (and, may I
say, proper toilets)at the ground, a great stadium where you
feel close to the players, a town close by with plenty of
pubs/restaurants/cafes and not bad (overall) public transport
connections.Quite a contrast to yesterday. The overall
experience is something I value and enjoy every home game. When
I add that to the team's performance over the last couple of
seasons-and hopefully a team that will continue to grow and
improve-I find following Quins so enjoyable these days (and I
say this as someone who is retired and has followed rugby since
childhood). Well done to the team for finishing third this
season and onwards and upwards for next season!
