But then reading in the cold light of day, it would suggest that
next season may well be his last so make sure that it's a big
one. And that our contingency plans are in place

I know it will happen eventually, but it really is hard
imagining quins without big Joe. Will be a big loss when he
decides to call it a day

Yes both joe and Danny .... an end of an era and huge holes to
fill. I hope we have a plan.

He'd be a big loss to rugby, but every player needs to retire at
some point, and with Joe in particular if his head isn't in it
then you won't get the best of him.
We found it hard to imagine Quins without Nev, Minty, Robshaw
and Brown, but we've somehow replaced them seamlessly, and with
players who if they have the longevity could be even better.
I'd not be totally surprised if a fairytale scenario plays out.
Joe gets dropped, retires from International rugby but agrees to
see out his contract at Quins. Then mid tournament one of the
selected looseheads gets injured, and Joe answers the call to
close out the tournament. Arriving, naturally, by helicopter.

We've not seen him for a bit (is he injured?) but Fin Baxter
looked very capable of filling Joe's not inconsiderable boots.
As for Danny, it feels like Gjaltema is emerging as the front
runner, but hasn't put his stamp on it yet. Danny's been the
undisputed top dog for well over a decade, much as Brown was -
and it was only once he was banned that Green stepped up and
claimed the shirt effortlessly. I don't suppose we have a young
Mr Maintenance or Repair in the Academy...?

These comments slightly contradict what he's said in the recent
past about what quins and the fans mean to him.
Can't see him as a coach really. I'm sure he's a great mentor
but not sure it'd be his thing. And we don't need another scrum
coach anyway.
He clearly loves the media stuff

I think this has definitely been given an alarmist press twist,
I’m sure JM would love to keep getting England caps. However I’m
not sure he’s a throw you’re teddy if you don’t type! All
players retire.
