Big article on Joe in Times “If Eddie does not want me at the
World Cup I would walk away from rugby”. Sounds as though he may
have had a wobble in his head last few weeks. Fingers crossed he
is really ok and that the end of season will allow him time to
sort it out.Go well Joe.

I've often thought that Joe may simply walk away from the game
one day. I'd hope that Quins as his "second family" might
prevent him from just quitting the club, but his recent video
talked about him getting older and recovery taking longer. I'd
hope he wouldn't quit rugby just because he's no longer an
international though.

Well he says that if Eddie tells him he is not in his plans for
the World Cup ‘he will shut up shop and walk away from Quins’

Mrs Marler may have issues with an exact recreation of the

He also posted on Twitter the other day that he's taking part in
a 'celebrity' Drag Race-esque show on ITV later this year. I
suspect he's looking at media/broadcasting for his post-playing
career - like Danny.
Would, in my opinion, be a massive loss for Quins not to have
him on the training paddock after he hangs up his boots - the
players often talk after comeback wins about Joe's voice being
the inspiration they needed at half time. With everything he's
been through with his own mental health battles and career ups
and downs, he could be such a valuable mentor in an Andy Sanger
type of role for years to come if he wanted to. Maybe on a
consultancy basis? Hopefully the suits can persuade him to stick
around Surrey Sports Park and The Stoop long after his playing
days with us end...
