OT - Mike Brown - injured or not selected?

I’ve not seen Mike Brown’s name listed on many (if any)
Newcastle team sheet since he informed the press Deano had
       refused to renew his contract.
Has he played since or has he fallen out with Newcastle and left
       the club already?

From memory I think he said Deano had told him he'd get his
second year but the club later pulled it at the last minute?
Might have been Deano that delivered the message but didn't seem
like it was Deano's decision. Possibly because it had been
decided by then that he wasn't going to stay on as DOR next
season and the club didn't want to be stuck with a fairly
       expensive 37 yr old?!

But either way has he played for the club since - I get he
wasn’t treated as he might have hoped when he left Quins but you
have to question whether - with the England punch up with Ben
Teo (“not my fault I was treated badly”) and now the situation
at Newcastle (“I’ve been treated badly again” - whether the
common denominator in all of this is Mike Brown.

Brown is a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve and in each
case we’ve heard his side of the story but not the other.
I don’t know quite what’s happened at Newcastle, but his deal
with Deano was essentially done on a handshake because he wanted
2 years and Quins weren’t at the time prepared to offer him. The
Falcons contract was actually 1+1, but it’s fairly obvious in
retrospect that with the cap reduction coming in they might not
be as keen as he was to take up the second year. I think in both
cases he might have overestimated his value and the hard reality
       of this year’s salary negotiations.
I do think he was hard done by over the Te’o incident - but I
also think it was Eddie using it (pretty unfairly if the reports
are to be believed) as an excuse to make a change he’d been
planning to make anyway. They had already had an altercation
over Mike’s attacking stats, which i suspect was a sign that he
was on the way out whatever happened. Ironically, just after
he’d been dumped, England started using a pre-match video of
various players scoring tries in which almost every clip had
Brown either making the final pass or running a support line
that would have allowed him to finish the score if the ball
       carrier had been stopped.

       Thanks poorfour - that’s a great summary. I think it’s probably
the case that - on several occasions - Mike Brown has over
estimated his worth and then had a bit of a sulk when others
haven’t agreed with his own valuation. It’s tough but I think at
times he’s probably been overly optimistic in terms of his
       expectations.
