Tyrone Green scored a sublime try against Wasps
Harlequins’ coaching group has named the matchday 23 to travel
to Exeter Chiefs this Saturday for the final regular round of
the Gallagher Premiership campaign.
Tyrone Green and Aaron Morris both make starting comebacks from
long-term injuries this week to take up starting roles, with
Will Evans promoted to the starting XV after returning from his
own injury troubles in recent weeks.
Joe Marler also returns to the starting line-up this week having
taken up a spot amongst the Impact Players last time out, with
fellow prop Will Collier recovering from the injury that saw him
pull out of Big Summer Kick-Off prior to the start of the match
to retain the three jersey.
Lock George Hammond, flanker James Chisholm and centre Luke
Northmore also make their own returns to fitness this week, all
named amongst the Impact Players.
There is also a return to the matchday squad for hooker Joe
Gray, who takes up his spot in the 16 jersey as Quins look to
claim home and away victories against Exeter for the first time
since the 2013/14 season.
Previewing the clash, Tabai Matson said: “We’re in a great
position this weekend to face a tough and proud team like Exeter
as we build towards the semi-finals. With a few high-calibre
players getting the chance to get back on the park this week, we
have an opportunity to springboard into the playoffs.
“Exeter serve as a great team to face before we head into the
semis. The Chiefs will want nothing better than to finish their
season with a strong performance against their final Premiership
opposition.”

Fantastic to see Green back. Fingers crossed there are no
injuries tomorrow, but it looks like Quins could go into the
playoffs with close to a fully fit squad.

I suspect they want to give Green game time, knowing that they
have Jones as a more than able backup..

And also a likely reason why Morris is starting in place of
Murley. Get game time for all the returnees in a game that
doesn't matter so that they're better prepared for the
(hopefully) two games coming up.

Great to see Green back and Chisholm on the bench.
Be interesting to see Exeter's approach tomorrow. Might see them
giving game time to one or two prospects with an eye on next
season.

It's certainly in their interests to play a team composed of
players they will have in the squad next season, unless they get
all sentimental about their leavers
