Tuilagi and Slade miss Australia tour - enter Marchant?

  HTML https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/jun/02/manu-tuilagi-exit-from-australia-tour-leaves-england-with-major-selection-headache-rugby-union
Both Guardian and Telegraph half-struggle to push Marchant into
the England team - which most of us see as obvious - and the
Telegraph even suggests Slade's (also now not going on tour)
team mate Sam Simmonds should be moved there. Or even
       Northmore...

Time for Joe to cement his place for the WC.
Unfortunately it looks like Smith/Fazz is now certain.

Marchant had an excellent 6N and is in superb form for Quins,
plus is a fantastic all-round talent - he's powerful, fast,
agile, an excellent defender, has great hands, and a decent
       kicking game.
So of course Eddie will just put Slade there again or pick
       someone out of position.

Wait... Tuilagi not available? How can that be? Surely it's not
       injury/fitness related...

Eddie will probably pick Elliot Daly as outside centre. Or Jonny
       Hill.

Well, it *is* by Austin Healey…
He’s right that Andre would be the ideal inside centre for
England, if he were to change his mind about playing for us. He
offers so much more than just a ball carrying option and it’s a
sad irony that the only country he wants to play for is the one
that already has a comparable player at inside centre.
But in terms of other choices, it’s odd that he dismisses
Marchant so easily. We’ve definitely only seen flashes of his
best in an England shirt - but then the backline over the autumn
and 6N hasn’t been firing properly and Slade’s lack of comfort
at IC has been instrumental in the outside backs
       underperforming.

Not sure why he bothered mentioning André thinking he's too
South African as it's irrelevant. André can't play for England
regardless of how he feels about it.

Technically, couldn’t he choose to represent the UK at 7s and
become eligible for England that way? Anyway, it’s academic; he
       doesn’t want to.
