O/T Mike Brown possible contract
DIR By: Monte

Ruck is reporting that ‘our friend’ Alex Sanderson has offered
Brownie
a one year contract. At least he would be close to Manchester to
finish his MBA or course. At least it is work for him.
Also on face book reporting that following Marland Yarde’s
profile being removed from Sale web site (?!) he has left the
Club! Maybe back to join Diamond at Worcester?

I doubt anyone will pick Yarde up until he's free of
investigation/charges. I don't know if that aspect has come to a
conclusion yet.

Well it doesn't look like we'll be bringing Brownie back so good
luck to him and if it helps with his degree then why not. Always
a shame to not see him play in quarters but such is life.
Good luck to him.

Daily Mail this morning saying up to 70 players in Premiership
at present including Brownie could be out of work at the end of
the season due to salary cap reduction to £5 million.

How about we crowdfund for one season to bring him back and give
him a proper sendoff??

Minty is joining Worcester so may remember Robshaw's comments on
Yarde from Quins days

The problem isn't the funds, it's the cap. And we have good
fullback options.

Technically the club could pay him £1, and we the supporters pay
the other amount. As we, the supporters, are not a business but
a volunteer group with no fiscal interest in Harlequins it
shouldn't be counted as under the salary cap unlike Saracens
highjinks.

I suspect if you ran that by the Salary Cap Manager, which you
would have to do, they may well raise an eyebrow. 😁

There is absolutely no chance this adorable madcap scheme would
be allowed under the salary cap.
