Injuries/subs yesterday

Wilco Louw ended up playing 80 mins yesterday after Collier was
injured in warmup. Who was called on to the bench as
replacement? Presume we had one. According to the reports Musk
came on for Jones 5 mins from the end, what was that about?
As well as Kerrod’s injury it looked like Lynagh and Murley both
had hand injuries, hopefully nothing serious. Lewies looked
crocked all the way through, but then he has all season.

Musk came on for Walker, never trust reports re subs. Kerrod
got a dig in the ribs. Collier had a back spasm. Murley didnt
seem to fussed when he came off. At this stage there are
probably a few that are just managing injuries to get through

Els was on the bench in place of Louw, meaning that either Louw
was going to play the full 80 or if he needed to be subbed, Joe
would switch sides & Els slot in at Loosehead.

Either that or Kerrod would have switched sides and played 80.

Marler was subbed on for Kerrod, so he wouldn't have been able
to come back on.

Murley was struggling with his wrist for about 15 mins before he
went off, probably just a sprain. As stated above, at this point
in the season, every team having to manage injuries.

As important as momentum is, the break this week could be
important in giving players an extra bit of recovery time for
niggles.

I assumed he meant that the plan may have been for Wilco to play
45 to 55 minutes and then bring Marler on.

Yep. That’s exactly what I meant, but it’s a moot point now.
Let’s hope Collier gets back to fitness for the play offs.

According to one of the reports, he felt a “twinge” during the
warm up…
