that there was going to be a red card if he didn't stop. Carley
insisting on talking to Danny in fact saved him from a red. What
was Carley supposed to say at that point? Danny knew why he'd
got the yellow card, he didn't need to be told - but he did need
to go through the motions if talking to Carley before getting
off the pitch. His petulant refusal to talk to Carley was going
to get a red, and that's what Carley told him. I think we owe
Carley thanks for rescuing Danny from himself. The last thing we
need is Danny up before a discipline committee at this stage of
the season.

prior warning (which may have happened we just didn't see it).
Certainly it smacks of Carley having it up to here with Danny,
so maybe it had been a thing during the game.

As mentioned, Sinckler was cited last (?) season for staying
Dickson what he thought of a decision. Something like “Are you
f-ing kidding?!”. Meant he missed the Calcutta Cup game.

"It's a yellow, we can upgrade it to a red". The only way that
makes sense is if Danny is doing something that risks a red.
Which he wasn't.
And Danny was only risking a red in the first place because
Carley insisted on talking to him, and then when he did he just
threatened him with a red anyway! Plenty of players get binned
without a conversation so it's clearly not a legal requirement,
just something Carley wanted to do, but apparently for no
reason.
So er, Carley saved Danny from a red that Carley was threatening
him with by... getting Danny to stop walking off the pitch so
that Carley could threaten him with a red? What was the point of
all of that then?
Anyway, ironically enough for a thread about a guy getting a
yellow for talking too much and then being threatened with a red
for not listening to someone else talk, I'll take my leave
without talking any more before DOK (and everyone else) gets
tired of me ;D

That’s why I suggested you look/listen again on the GP site.
Carley only said that bit about the red card after Danny had
walked away and ignored him at least 4 times. That is something
which risks a red.
I seriously don’t understand why people are having difficulty
with Carley’s treatment of Danny. It’s textbook rugby player
acts like twat.

No it isn't. Care isn't totally blameless but Carley had
absolutely nothing to say to him. He just dragged him back onto
the field for nothing but a show of authority.
DC shouldn't have given him chat to begin with but he was given
a yellow and trotted off. Pretty pathetic from Carley.

DC talks about it in the pod cast this week. He says that after
the Wallace wrong call and then Northampton killing the ball and
getting a penalty he says to nobody in particular that That’s
the second shocker in a row, I think Carley was meant to hear
the comment and responded with the yellow card and off DC went
only to be called back to be asked if he wanted to upgrade to a
red. DC says he was very close to losing it just to see what
would happen but decided that he would rather play to the end of
the season.
I does sound like Carley was trying to provoke him or look
for a reason to humiliate Danny and or give him a red. That’s as
silly as Danny admits his behaviour was.

Well, Danny's more of a twat than I thought. Quite unbelievable
for someone with his experience.
