They don't lose a player because their player went off for a HIA

Right, why are we penalised because their own player knocked out
their own player, I'm not great on these technical rules why are
we penalised as we would/could win every scrum for the rest of
the match?

Uncontested scrums means the team unable to use a front row go
down a man. This was deliberately put in to stop teams feigning
injury when losing the scrum contest.

So, if I've got this right, as it was a HIA they don't lose a
player, ok great, but....it was their own player in player which
caused the issue so I would think a rule change is needed.

Defence is poor. Shipping four tries in one half? Poor show. We
have a scary problem of scoring and immediately handing back the
momentum

The problem is that if teams had to go down to 14 in that
situation you'd get teams forcing players to come back on while
concussed in order to stop scrums from going uncontested.
