Yeah, I was too. With less than 60 seconds on the clock, the
risk/reward potential would have made it worth going for.
Our game management wasn’t brilliant at times, but at other
points, I thought we were a bit more savvy and pragmatic than we
usually are.
Not a brilliant performance, but the key thing is that it was
good enough and a very valuable 4 points. Even if that wasn’t
Tigers’ best Starting XV, it wasn’t ours either and the
psychology of knowing that you can beat them if it comes to it
is important. We ran their best side close at Welford Road too,
so it’s not as though we should be feeling in any way inferior.
This notion of ‘we won but …’ isn’t important. We won, end of.

Ordinarily I would have rather we went for the corner at the end
but there was so much clumsy and dumb on show today that the
fear of a Montpellier away moment meant I was happy to see the
game ended.

I agree. The big one for me is Sarries. I always get the
impression we feel beaten before the game even starts. The game
earlier in the season was a prime example. I know it was done to
death on here at the time but taking the kick at goal just
seemed like we were waiting for the comeback from them so we
panicked. They are the only side I worry about. A win against
them of any sort is a huge mental boost I think

Definitely. However, I feel like a tough run in gives us an
excellent opportunity to build up a head of steam against good
sides. We’re definitely capable of beating Saints, Gloucester
and Exeter and if we do, we’ll be putting ourselves in the best
shape to beat Saracens.

I can’t believe the comments on here. We won only because we
wanted it more! The wind was a nightmare and I for one will
take the W. Never ever expected a bonus point from this match
and just thrilled to get the win. It was a joy to have a decent
ref with authority and slightly odd decision against Dombrandt
was TMO and Barnes together.

Im thrilled with the win, think everyone is. Just a part of me
the was a bit disappointed we didnt go balls deep at the end and
go for the corner (but I of course understand why).
Re Dombrandt, I get where Barnes and the TMO were coming from.
It was dangerous play by Dombrandt so the result was a pen to
Tigers, but I would have thought it would have been the case
that no one ended up with a pen?!? If two of our lads had a
punch up, the oppo wouldnt get a pen would they??

Where we sit we often hear the oppo coaches comments, all we got
today was SB continually saying to the pitch side coaches
(waterboys/medics) get on so they stop the clock, don’t go on so
the clock runs, telling them what he wants from the team, change
the shape of this, do that, he even went down to talk to the
coaches to pass on messages - is this on pitch coaching truly
allowed? I know it happens but it’s getting silly at one point
there were 7 Leicester orange jackets on the pitch? IMHO one of
the reason we need true water boys and just medics allowed on
the pitch WHEN the ref says....
Also he kept shouting Close the field, Close the field. Anyone
genuinely know what that means?
