Sir for Saturday

You can tell it’s a big match it’s Wayne Barnes. Is it the first
time we have seen him this season? Big hoorah from me should be
a fast pace game.

The only time I can remember having him this season was against
Bristol at home.

You think that still hurts? I'm still wincing from the 2012 game
where he (correctly) binned Lambo for poor scrummaging but then
(incorrectly - as he later admitted) binned Skinner for nicking
the ball when it popped out of the scrum and not the Tigers
openside for pulling it back in.
But anyway, for a game that could well come down to fine margins
I'd rather have him than just about any other ref.

I thought it was the home game in April 2011 where both Skinner
and Lambert got a yellow card? This was also the game when
Ayerza and Joe both got a red card.
I think we lost at home to them in 2012 and then went on to beat
them in the final.

Can't criticize the choice of Barnes. Excellent ref. Can't say
that about many of the others, sadly ...

Yep. Pleased that Wayne’s in charge. He calls it as he sees it,
and doesn’t spend too much time listening to the witterings of
TMOs or touch judges ( RAs).
Supports the dominant scrum, which, I can’t believe I’m saying
this, given we’re playing Tigers. that I think we will have ....

I think you're right. The 2012 game was the one with the massive
break where Tom Croft made the foolish decision to try to tackle
Nick Easter with his head

Yes, I remember that game all too well. Barnsey had a bad day at
the office and was booed off at the end. Skinner took the ball
out of the scrum as it had popped out and been pulled back in by
a Tigers foot so was game on. Barnes missed it and carded
Skinner. We could have also had a penalty try after a late
tackle on a player that had chipped ahead
