I can't remember any specific George Lowe tries, but that might
be because he made them all look so easy. The default template
was JTH hitting the line hard and then offloading to Lowe who
would just run through a gap that was only there at the specific
angle he picked, and quite often carry straight on to score.
He was another one who was deceptively quick - I do definitely
remember him coming cross field to tackle Varndell - who had a
head start - into touch.

Not my favourite but watching Andrew Merton running from our 22
away to Newbury is one I remember with a smile.
He was getting slower and slower every 5 strides and looking
behind him hoping to see somebody to pass to before getting
caught, luckily he just made as no teammate was to be seen!

So many to choose from. Quite a few this season, and if we were
to draw up a top 20 (for example) from the past 5-10 years, I'm
pretty sure Marcus would feature in more than his fair share.
He's just a player that sees things others don't and has the
skill and the audacity to make them happen. Additionally he
seems to inspire others to back themselves, and it's a joy to
watch.
In recent years there have been a few crackers involving players
like OLH and Charlie Walker; both gifted with great speed and in
OLH's case a fantastic step - when it worked. Joe Marchant
flying without wings will always stick in the memory, as will
Nev's solo Usain Bolt impression against Wasps (as mentioned
earlier) coming back of a long injury layoff (ACL?). I quite
enjoyed the two tries against Newcastle by a replacement, which
was many fans' introduction to Tyrone Green. And let's not
forget the Lewies long run-in that left him needing an inhaler.
The beauty of a lot of these were that they were team tries
started with a flash of brilliance, and executed by passing the
ball through many pairs of hands, great running lines and
support play. Or as we often hear, "the Quins way".
