Great work MQ, it doesn't matter how it happens, as long as you
get back in one piece.
After deep reflection, I'm still gutted that we haven't made the
quarters but it was our first proper shot at the Champions Cup
since 2013 so it'll take a while to get battle ready for it. The
comments above about 'head over heart' I think are spot on, we
were niaive about how to play the game in front of us. I think
not having Lewies on the pitch to keep the calm head was a big
loss.
But you know what, I'll take all of the pain just to have
witnessed the greatest try I've seen live and that I got to
share that moment with my children.
Watching Tigers yesterday, they now have to make a decision,
which is their priority and they had players dropping all over
the place, at least our path is clear.
Great effort but next year's tournament will be better for us.
Hope wEV is OK, he looked very stunned when he came off...

Wev looked distraught, wouldn't be surprised to hear that was a
broken rib or similar.

Hopefully it’s nothing too serious and WEv being distraught is
more worry at the prospect of being injured again rather than
the injury itself.
I agree on everything you’ve said. Given the age profile of our
squad, this is another very valuable learning experience if we
use it properly.
If we can finish the season strongly, we’ll be getting towards
establishing ourselves as a proper top 4 outfit who can
seriously challenge in Europe too. In the past, we’ve sneaked
qualification and been out of our depth. Now, we look like we
belong with the elite sides and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say
we’re becoming one of the top 10 sides in Europe.
I also think it’s been very useful in getting our England
players back into the side and firing.
I hate the way the remaining fixtures are scheduled with big
breaks in between round 24 and 25 and again for 25 and 26. It’s
going to be hard for anyone to build momentum and it’s almost
like every game is a knock out game (not for us specifically),
but that could work in our favour. We’ve started to get much
more experience in knock out scenarios so I feel like we can
treat each ‘block’ as a mini play-offs with a decent bit of rest
in between. Tigers at home then Saints away is a tough pair of
fixtures and then we have Gloucester on it’s own in the middle.
We have enough of a buffer that we don’t need to win all three,
but I feel like we’re capable of it.
If Tigers and Saracens keep going in Europe, we’ll be fresher
for the actual play-offs.

Thankfully I pre booked. I bumped into a nice lad in a Quins
shirt in O’Neil’s soho actually. He agreed with my expert
analysis of the game. I did also team up with a hen do and it
was like shooting fish in a barrel but I’m married and if I’m
honest I haven’t got the patience for more than one girl in my
life. Good to know I still got the magic though, a bit like a
retired footballer playing for a charity game.
I’m currently sitting in spoons in Victoria having had 4 double
bells whiskeys to settle things.
Anyway we move onto Tigers and I fully expect a 100-3 win

Way to put a dampener on me getting called up. I was the Robshaw

Unfortunately we didn't make the quarters, but normally 25 % for
the away side!
