Ah yes - that LV= cup semi final vs Bath was a cracker.
From memory, it was one of the best atmospheres that I can
       remember at the Stoop.
Also - there were only around 7,000 at that game too :-)
Maybe that is the combination we need - A half full ground and
       an early kick off.

I think there might be quite a few season ticket holders who
haven't read the club's emails so haven't bought a seat, who
will turn up on the day expecting their card to work as normal.

I know the price aren’t ideal and the club should have probably
discounted the tickets slightly more but we’ve have sold out
every game this season. Some weeks in advance. There was no
reason to think it wouldn’t be close to a sellout again without
       a discounted rate.
I’m slightly surprised people are complaining about pricing
though, you don’t see football discounting games for European
knockout matches. It is our first one home one in the top tier
for NINE years, I’m surprised people aren’t jumping at the
chance to get down a cheer on the boys. There are still plenty
of “cheaper” seat options available if people don’t want to pay
       full whack…

But if you are a STH you don't pay for the other sell out games.
Most Football clubs do discount for cup matches so that is
       factually incorrect

I think the kick off time dissuades most. My journey begins
getting on the train at 8.30am, but I imagine for a lot of
people a fair bit closer its still a tall order to get things
ready. Also looking at Tigers for their fixture, they are still
coming in £7 cheaper in a like for like, so with a combination
of the price and time it probably would tip the balance not go.
Tigers ground is filled more than ours will be, off the ticket
       website anyway.

From memory, there used to be an option of buying your tickets
for the knockout cup games when you initially bought your season
ticket. I think that you gave them your credit card details and
then, if we got through to the knockouts, they then charged your
card and posted the ticket out.
I guess it was an admin nightmare though.

Whereabouts? Doesn't appear to be anything local or south.

a tenner to entice fans in rather than watching on CH4 with a
       pack of beers.
       >

I think that "empty" is a huge exaggeration.
I looked at the ticket site earlier and although there are huge
areas of the north and south stand that are quiet, the premium
seats in the east/west are largely sold out.
Also, for this match, you will have people that will actually go
as they have spent actual money.
E.g. there are 3 STHs in front on me who often don't come to
games for various reasons - weddings, etc.
So, even if they only sell 10k tickets, that will equate to 10k
fans who are invested in the game.
Probably similar situation to the LV cup game where 7k people
       sounded like 70,000.
But, don't underestimate the sound that 10,000 people can make.
There were only 10,000 at the final last year.

To try and bring a few threads together here - I’m ok with
paying £50 to watch the best Quins side ever, take on top French
opposition. I also live quite close to the ground, so not
affected by the kick off time.
The club will have known 3 or 4 weeks ago that we’d be
struggling to fill the stadium, so I thought they may have but
some incentives in then. Yes, football clubs do it for the knock
out stages of cups. Those who’ve paid full whack, have a bit of
a moan, but do accept that the atmospheres are excellent with
kids and families in. Shame really, as we’ve been growing our
reputation as one of the best supported clubs (home and away),
which will be exposed somewhat with the empty seats on Saturday.
Hope there’s a last minute rush though.
