I'm not sure why some people seem to be worried about where his
head is at during the run-in... players want to win trophies. He
won't have written off the last third of the season just because
he's signed for another club.

You're talking like he's playing for Quins of years gone by,
he's playing for the champions and, bearing in mind how he's
playing now, the players he's playing with atm are helping him
along just fine. If playing with Itoje elevates you to a better
standard why isn't Isiekwe world class? And to say Tizard could
only progress his career at Saracens isn't a great vote of
confidence in your own club or it's coaches. Personally I'd want
to stay at the club that were champions of England and help them
win more trophies. You say it's about playing with Itoje and yet
Cadan Murley on twitter suggested it may be to do with something
else. Who knows?

It's not that he could "only progress his career at Saracens"
it's that Saracens have a gap in their squad that he is a good
fit to fill, and they clearly made him a priority to recruit.
The likelihood is that they were offering him less competition
for first team game time and more money than Quins could. I
wouldn't be surprised if the former mattered more than the
latter - I think we can already see that Hammond will be
presenting more and more competition as time goes on.

Tizard is our best lock on form and so imo should be picked for
every game.
I think this stuff about whether you can play in a key match
against your new club is nonsense. Botica didn't kick the ball
to Montpellier because he was joining them but because he was
prone to massive brain farts, and still is. If the match is a
relegation or promotion decider that's a different matter.
Otherwise it's irrelevant.
Along with Murley and Lawday he's one of the players of the
season so would be madness to drop him, even if both Lewies and
Symons are fit

Well first of all, let's not pretend that we won the premiership
in a conventional way. We didn't dominate everyone all season
and finish in first place as favourites to win. We might have
the trophy in the cabinet (and don't get me wrong, I loved every
moment) but we pulled a rabbit out of the hat. As Danny Care was
quoted, "we were SO fourth".
As for Isiekwe, he is 23 and has 7 caps. Tizard is 22 and has
none. So your comparison more or less backs up my point, rather
than yours.
Regarding your other comment, please do show me where I
suggested Tizard "could only progress his career at Saracens"?!
I'll save you time in searching... I didn't.

Isiekwe was picked as a 19 year old then thrown on the
scrapheap, then showed great form for Northampton on loan to
force himself back into the England reckoning and continued that
back at Sarries. Not sure he's a great example either way.

Yep, fair point. Either way, playing and training regularly with
someone who is widely regarded as among the best, if not the
best, in the world in his position is an attractive prospect and
a good place to develop. Coupled with a higher income, it's not
a difficult decision to make. As much as I would have loved him
to stay at Quins.

Who really cares? He’s a good player and I’m sure is
professional enough to play well when picked but if he wants to
go, there’s no point dwelling on it. I’d rather have a less
talented player (not that I think that will be the outcome) who
wants to be here than a magician that doesn’t. Good luck to him
but Quins is bigger than one player- and if it isn’t we have a
big problem.

Tizzard has turned out to be a fine young player and a credit to
our academy. I’d have liked him to stay with us but he has
decided to move on. So be it and I hope he does well. I don’t
think it will have a significant impact on our squad next season
or in the longer term. I’d rather focus on the abilities of the
19 players who have committed to staying with us who, together
with the players still under contact, will provide us with a
very competitive squad next season.
