And Dombrandt topped the 6 Nations turnover table - impressive
given his limited game time and averaging 1 turnover per 40
minutes played, which at international level is a pretty decent
       rate.

I'm surprised Iron Will wasn't back in the squad, but maybe he
       needs recovery time after Tuesday.
There's a decent bench to come on - could see Wilco having a big
impact, especially if Collier has controlled the scrum in the
first 50. Likewise if the game breaks up a little then Lynagh
could be very handy in the closing stages. Murley will have to
use all his wiles to control Hassell-Collins, I think.

What happened to Scott Steele? Did he get injured in the 10 mins
       he played on Tuesday?

It seems steele is not stronger than iron after all.

Strong bench. Could be very important as Irish often seem to
       take an early lead.

       Two slightly unusual teams.
Re. Marchant/Northmore, I would imagine the former might have
put his foot down about playing at 13. After a couple of good
performances for England, I assume he’ll want to focus on
       keeping the shirt.
The back five of the scrums is interesting. Quins have Hammond
(mostly a lock) at 6, Lawday (mostly a 6/8) at 7 and Irish have
Rogerson (a 6) in the second row with Pearson and Gonzalez as
       dual opensides. Curious.
       Bit of a clash of styles - Irish’s lineout/maul is normally a
weapon. I’m wondering if we are looking at 3 locks as a way of
       countering that.
Jones at 15 isn’t a massive surprise. As I said a couple of
weeks back when Green got injured, he did play virtually all of
his last season at Glasgow at fullback.

I think Lawday has shown he's pretty adept at all three back row
positions - a bit like Richard Hill he has the physicality and
skills to do all three well. Not saying he's in Hill's class
(but then again, who is?) but he's similar in being able to
adjust his game based on the role he has to play rather than
just play the same game with a different number on his back.
We've clearly gone for power in the pack given the available
players we've left out. From 1 to 8 that is a pack with serious
heft and we could only add more by swapping Wilco in for Will -
but given how the Irish scrum marmalised ours in the Prem Cup
game, I can see why Quins would want to start with their best
       technical front row.

To be fair, Collier deserves to start ATM. Wilco’s carrying adds
an extra dimension from the bench and right now, he is probably
best used in an impact role.
Agree on Lawday. I guess I was trying to say that we’ve gone for
quite a different style of back row to Irish’s. I feel like
they’re aiming to own the breakdown while we’re aiming to boss
the set piece. We’ll need to look after the ball in contact with
them fielding 3 flankers and Creevy, who is an excellent jackal.

True, but in Lawday and Dommers we have two excellent jackals
who are also heavyweight tacklers and carriers, and for all I
know Hammond might have excellent jackalling technique to round
out his "modern day John Eales" routine...
