I imagine they thought we were obnoxious the way I think of
Munster fans for the time they came and out sang and out
numbered us as their side gave us a kicking at the Stoop.
In that I didn’t like it at the time, but none of them did
anything worse than show up and support their team and it was
embarrassing for us!

Tiggers from 1st and I don't think Sarries will get less than
3rd. I'd rather play Tiggers in a semi. We can turn HQ into a
home match against Sarries and win against the anti rugby team.
Hopefully we break them like Briz and Chiefs 😈

Yeah, I don’t see 1-3 changing now. The race is for 4th.
That means an away semi for us and unless Tigers really slip-up,
it looks like we’ll be heading up to Welford Road.
A final vs. the cheats would be my dream and nightmare rolled in
to one. Glorious if we win, gutting if we lose.

I was a bit worried about this one before the game. Irish have
the ability to score points and we don’t half love saving an
absolutely stinking performance for them at least once a season.
Thankfully the terrible effort of the autumn wasn’t to be
repeated!
Great to see such a large support there. Came through loud and
clear on the TV. We really took our chances well yesterday. At
some point in the second half BT put up a stat that showed we
were taking 4 points per visit to the 22 and Irish 1. That sort
of ruthlessness is what we need to maintain.
We won the physical battle, we’ll certainly miss Tiz but Hammond
had a cracking game at 6. Lawday was everywhere. Wish DC would
stop getting carded, he was superb the rest of time
Thought Irish were a bit naive at times. The drops were funny
from our point of view but really not great viewing for the
players concerned. Tuisue looks to be a threat but doesn’t have
much of a game head.
All in all a great afternoons work.

If positions stay the same, won't we be away to Sarries in the
semis? Thought first play fourth, second play third.

Irish fans on their forum have recognised their home support is
somewhat lacking along with the atmosphere. You'd have thought
by now they would be used to playing in half empty stadiums!
Their bread and butter supporters, so not the friday night st
patricks day beer brigade, probably range between 5-7k so a
stadia that can take 17k is always going to leave a lot to be
desired.
Ironically, with home fans spread out and away fans clustered
more together, it works against them for noise. I probably will
do this trip next season but a lot hinges on how good their bar
service is..

Before the game I bought a pint of Guinness in the ground.
Service was quite good.
But, Went to the bar at half time. The queue was short-maybe 10
people in front of me - but really slow moving. I missed about
the first 5 minutes of the second half.
And - they were pretty disorganised - I tried buy London Pride -
but they said they had run out. But my friend that was just
behind me noticed that Pride was still flowing from another pump
- so begrudgingly, the guy walked over and used that pump.
I went in the dugout bar to watch the band afterwards. The
service there was quick.
But, maybe it was quieter than normal because the band hadn't
shown up. Apparently, they booked a DJ at the last minute. But,
he was late and we had left before he arrived.
But - there are a lot of pubs in the area.
We went to One Over the Ait pre-match. It was decorated with
Quins flags. Completely packed - service was slow - but to be
expected with that many people there.
There is a Sainsbury's local though - you could always buy a few
bottles of beer and sit by the river.
Afterwards we went to the Express Tavern near the ground. Irish
guy playing music (sadly not very loud). Pub wasn't as busy as I
expected.
Good range of beer and quick service.
Then we went to the Greyhound just over the bridge. Also good.

Remember when the Irish fans used to ask.....
Q. What's the difference between the Stoop and the moon?
A. The moon has more atmosphere! (tish-boom!)
The worm has certainly turned! Congrats to all who made the game
yesterday. The support was very clear on the TV, and as said
further up, every time there was a big cheer from the fans, it
turned out to be something good for Harlequins!

On a related note to the above -- our stadium experience was
superb.
Can hugely recommend booking in S201, 202, or 203 if money
allows. You get great padded seats, loads of space and a huge
bar (also food) just for those blocks.
Didn't queue once for a beer, so much seating space - and
cheaper than my seat at the Stoop on a per game basis.
Quins have nothing close sadly.....I'd trade little a bit of
"character" for a little bit more in the way of facilities.
Realise not everyone can pay for gold seats, so this is 100% a
"first world problem" - but at the Stoop I get a seat with a
good view, and theoretical access to the Members Bar, but since
its on the opposite side of the ground, I've been to it about
three times in 10 years. (and it was rammed with nowhere to sit,
too hot, the food in there was a joke and the beer seemed even
worse than the Kings Bar).
Been invited into the Debenture Lounge a few times over the
years as well, and god knows why anyone bothers with it. It's
like being stuck in some awful 1970s social club.
So while I love the Stoop, it was an eye opener on what is
possible.
