Don’t get me wrong, I’m very worried that if prices go up too
far that it’ll end up like HQ, full of the most awful corporate
Ruperts with all the money and no clue about the game or love
for the club.
But a ticket that gives you 16 games for the price of
7 is a bit of a surprise.
Fortunate enough to buy my seat in gold 10 years ago, not the
easiest to afford as prices have gone up but kept it going.
But this year way more than ever before we’re surrounded by more
and more people who don’t seem that interested and spend a lot
of time ignoring the game.
If the club gets the balance wrong it’s a massive risk - so I
both understand the need for a new financial model but worry
about what that might do.

I don’t think your maths are right for jesters to break even at
seven matches. At £350 you would have to attend 10 @£35 . I
don’t think jester single match tickets are more than that.

Oh I’ve no idea, it’s not my maths - it’s what the quins bloke
said on the presentation.
It could well be wrong, but just going on what they said.

Like I said a price rise for jester is reasonable. But the game
overall needs to adjust. If that means cutting salaries so be
it.
You can’t just keep increasing prices as you’ll eventually get
empty seats. See Wales in the 6N - unthinkable a few years back.
We’re some way off that at Quins as we’re doing well but if we
go back to the dismal years then the demand might fall away

A jester renewal this season was £275 a new season ticket was
£320
So as break even for a renewal (275/35) is 7.8 games Laurie did
say 7

Be interesting to know what % of our total revenue is ticket
sales as assuming we have 10k season ticket holders an increase
per person of £100 isn’t going to make much of a dent into a
predicted £3m loss this season.
Based on the graphs I suspect the Jester price will go up a lot
and some seats will get regraded as a remember them doing this a
few years ago. Can also see further restrictions on concession
pricing, such as the removal of key worker discount on Club.
They do need to be careful though and remember that the
Premiership Cup games aren’t that popular so shouldn’t be
considered equal to a league/European cup match.

Oh that was him? Lolz. Only tuned in late and never seem him

It’s fine while you’ve got a very marketable product as
Champions when spectators might be prepared to pay more for a
piece of the action. The problem comes when you’re struggling to
get bums on seats because you’re at the opposite end of the
table and the rugby isn’t good enough. Hopefully that won’t
happen to Quins any time soon but just saying…….
