Youngs showing why he isn’t worthy of his caps record again.
The love in for Steward is over, what does he do? He’s not
amazing in defence and makes nothing in attack.
A good performance playing with 14 men for the whole game. EJ
needs to shoulder the blame for picking players like Ewels.
Should France beat us, 2 6 nation finishes in 5th is resignation
       territory

I’m not upset by this effort at all. Exceptional effort from
England under the circumstances. Amazing how Ireland didn’t
receive any kind of warning until very late despite the
       ridiculous penalty count.

Steward is by some distance the best fullback we have for the
primary things a fullback does. I think people forget just how
       young he is, though.

Regardless, he didn't have a good game. England were rubbish
anyway, apart from the fight, heart and scrum. They spent a
total of 16 seconds in possession in Ireland's 22, created no
pressure on their goal line and messed up the scant
opportunities they got a sniff at. Lord knows how they will
conjure up any tries against France.

I was responding to the question "what does he do", not saying
       he had a good game.

I hate kicking the ball away as an attacking strategy. However,
I don’t think we could have done anything else yesterday.
We were so stretched and expending so much energy (particularly
in the pack) that I don’t think we could have played more than a
few phases without running out of gas. TBH, kicking was the only
viable strategy. I strongly suspect we’d have run out of steam
well before the 70th minute had we tried to play more
ball-in-hand rugby and shipped a lot more points.
