Surely we can find a balance and play Benny Goodman when the
opposition comes on and Death Grips when we come on.

I've got to agree with this. There's an interesting piece about

I'm a few years younger than you (54), but I still find new
music exciting. Not every genre is my "cup of meat" as Mr
Zimmerman once wrote, but there's plenty of new artists out
there that I am still being introduced to and really enjoying.
Just waiting for my copy of the new Wet Leg album to arrive!

It`s the music played almost every time there is a break in play
that I find most annoying, not the music itself.

The one bit that I find mildly amusing is that sometimes you
might get a stoppage due to someone taking a nasty knock to the
head.
So, while they are sitting in the middle of the field surrounded
my medics and the player has a nasty headache, the man on the
wheels-of-steel plays music with a really loud baseline and lots
of drums.
I'm not sure that it does the headache any good.
But - then again, I made a point on another thread about games
being won or lost by fine margins. Maybe the guy on the decks
knows exactly what he is doing.

Fulham play London Calling at every home game and the crowd sing
the 'I live by the river' line every time. I saw the Clash play
many years ago - very good as I remember.

But of course! Mind you, it does make it difficult with a few
albums like Sticky Fingers with the zip or KT Tunstall's triple
disc Live from the Shepherds Bush Empire.

A short segment of London Calling when the team comes out is
fine by me, we are the London club after all, unless someone can
suggest a more fitting modern piece.
By the same token, why are the respondents on here not asking
for the Mighty Quinn to be cut as that is an even more archaic
piece of music? In my opinion it is because Mighty Quinn fits
with the club and has been sung by the crowd since time began,
well almost...Best I put a hard hat on now.
