Or, we could continue with an innovative, progressive club that
supports inclusion, is selling out at every game, with good and
happy players that is currently double champs of England and is
in the knockouts of the European cup.

Yawn.
What makes the Clash's London calling non "progressive"?

Easy to answer.
It is going back to something that was.

One question.
I wasn't a supporter of quins when I was 20ish back in the
1980s. But, did we have Glen Miller as the run on music back
then? Or did we choose something newer than 40 years old?

It's worth remembering that some of the music choices,
particularly the music when players take the pitch is usually
picked by the players themselves.

Agree with this at least when you have a tune that everyone is
familiar with they know the team is about to run out
Think joker and the thief was excellent

I am in my late 50's.
When I was at school, The Clash was one of my favourite bands of
the time. In fact they still are. I am probably the only nerd on
this board that replies in Spanish to the call and response bits
in "Should I Stay or Should I Go?". (If you know, you know!)
Even the song "Joker and the Thief" came out before my teenage
son was born. (I think that Joker is excellent by the way).
I love a bit of nostalgia - but, nostalgia isn't as good as it
used to be.
I also fear and resist change.
But, there should be no reason not to keep these things fresh.
My point is that if your first experience of going to a Quins
game is that they play songs that are all 20 to 40 years old,
then that probably gives the impression that this is an old
person's club.
When I was a late teenager, listening to "London Calling", 43
year old tunes that could have been played were:
Bing Crosby - Pennies From Heaven; Fred Astaire - The Way You
Look Tonight; Billie Holiday - Summertime; Benny Goodman - Goody
Goody or Glory of Love
I am not sure what I would have made of it at the time if these
songs were being played.
But - finally, there is continual stream of great bands and
great music being made. So, why not try something new?
